Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, a soul in distresses and a spirit of weariness has cried out to you

Hear, Lord, and have mercy, for we have sinned before you.

For you are sitting forever, and we are perishing forever.

Lord Almighty, God of Israel, hear now the prayer of the dead of Israel and of the sons who sin before you, who did not hear the voice of the Lord their God, and the evils have clung to us.

Do not remember the injustices of our fathers, but remember your hand and your name at this time.

For you are the Lord our God, and we will praise you, O Lord.

For this reason you put your fear upon our heart, for us to call upon your name, and we will praise you in our exile, because we have turned away from our hearts all the injustice of our fathers, of those who have sinned before you

Behold, we are today in our exile, where you scattered us there, for reproach and for a curse and for payment, according to all the injustices of our fathers, who departed from the Lord our God.

Hear, Israel, the commands of life; give ear to know prudence.

What is it, Israel, what is it that you are in the land of the enemies? You have grown old in an alien land.

You were defiled with the dead; you were counted with those who are in Hades.

You have forsaken the fountain of wisdom

If you had walked in the way of God, you would have dwelt in peace forever.

Learn where there is prudence, where there is strength, where there is understanding, so as to know where there are together long life and life, where there is light of eyes and peace

Who has found its place, and who has entered into its treasuries?

Where are the rulers of the nations and those who lord it over the beasts on the earth?

those who make sport with the birds of heaven and store up the silver and the gold in which men had trusted, and there is no end to their acquisition

Those who fashion silver and are anxious, and there is no discovery of their works

They vanished and went down into Hades, and others rose up in their place.

The younger ones saw light and dwelt upon the earth, but they did not know the way of knowledge

Neither did they understand her paths, nor did their sons lay hold of her; they became far from their way.

Nor was it heard in Canaan, nor was it seen in Teman.

Nor the sons of Hagar, those who seek understanding on the earth, the merchants of Merran and Thaiman, the storytellers and the seekers of understanding of the way of wisdom, did not know, nor did they remember her paths.

O Israel, how great is the house of God and how extended is the place of his possession.

Great and without end, exalted and immeasurable
