And command the people, saying, You are passing through the borders of your brothers, the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir, and they will fear you, and they will be very cautious of you.
Do not wage war against them, for I will not give you from their land not even a step of a foot, because I have given the mountain of Seir as a possession to the sons of Esau.
For the Lord our God has blessed you in every work of your hands; recognize how you have gone through that great and fearful wilderness: behold, forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have not lacked anything.

From Aroer, which is by the edge of the torrent-bed of Arnon, and the city which was in the ravine, and as far as the mountain of Gilead, there was no city that escaped us; the Lord our God gave them all over into our hands.
Only to the land of the sons of Ammon did we not come near, all that which meets the torrent of Jabbok and the cities that are in the hill country, just as the Lord our God commanded us.
