And now, Israel, hear the ordinances and the judgments, as many as I am teaching you today to do, in order that you may live and be multiplied and, having entered, may inherit the land which the Lord the God of your fathers is giving you.

You shall not add to the word which I command you, and you shall not take away from it; keep the commandments of the Lord your God, as many as I command you today.

Your eyes have seen all that the Lord our God did with Baal-peor, that every man who went after Baal-peor, the Lord your God destroyed him from among you.

But you who cling to the Lord your God are all alive today.

See, I have taught you statutes and judgments as the Lord commanded me to do thus in the land into which you are entering there to inherit it

And you shall keep and do, because this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of all the nations, as many as shall hear all these ordinances and shall say, Behold, this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

For what great nation is there that has a god drawing near to them as the Lord our God is in all things for which we may call upon him?

And what great nation is there that has to it statutes and righteous judgments according to all this law that I am giving before you today?

Take heed to yourself and keep your soul very carefully, lest you forget all the words that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life, and you shall make your sons and your sons’ sons know them.

the day on which you stood before the Lord your God in Horeb, on the day of the assembly, when the Lord said to me, Assemble to me the people, and let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the land, and that they may teach their sons.

And you came near and stood under the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire to heaven, darkness, gloom, tempest, a great voice

And the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire a voice of words; you heard, and you saw no form, only a voice.

And he announced to you his covenant, which he commanded you to do, the ten words, and he wrote them on two stone tablets

And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you ordinances and judgments, to do them in the land into which you are entering there to inherit it.

And you shall very carefully guard your souls, for you did not see a likeness on the day when the Lord spoke to you at Horeb on the mountain out of the midst of the fire

Do not act lawlessly and make for yourselves a carved likeness, any image, the likeness of male or female

the likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies under the heaven

the likeness of every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, the likeness of every fish, all that are in the waters under the earth

and lest, having looked up to heaven and seen the sun and the moon and the stars and all the host of heaven, you be led astray and worship them and serve them, which the Lord your God allotted to all the nations under heaven

But you, God took and brought you out from the iron furnace, from Egypt, to be for him an inherited people, as on this day

And the Lord was angry with me because of the things spoken by you, and he swore that I should not cross over this Jordan and that I should not enter into the land that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.

For I am dying in this land, and I do not cross over this Jordan; but you are crossing over and will inherit this good land.

Take heed to yourselves lest you forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make for yourselves a carved likeness of anything that the Lord your God commanded you.

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God

And if you beget sons and sons of your sons and grow old upon the land and act lawlessly and make a graven image, a likeness of anything, and do the evil things before the Lord your God, to provoke him to anger,

I testify to you today, the heaven and the earth, that by destruction you will be destroyed from the land into which you are crossing over the Jordan to inherit it there; you will not lengthen days upon it, but rather you will be utterly wiped out.

And the Lord will scatter you among all the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the nations into which the Lord will bring you there.

and you will serve there other gods, works of human hands, wood and stone, which shall not see nor shall they hear, neither shall they eat nor shall they smell

And you will seek the Lord your God there, and you will find him when you seek him out with all your heart and with all your soul, in your affliction.

And all these words shall find you in the latter days, and you shall turn to the Lord your God and obey his voice

because the Lord your God is a compassionate God; he will not forsake you, nor will he by no means destroy you, he will not forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them

Ask of former days, the days that were before you, from the day when God created man on the earth and to the farthest end of heaven and to the farthest end of heaven, whether this great word has happened, or whether such a thing has ever been heard.

Has a nation ever heard the voice of a living God speaking from the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and lived?

Or has God assayed to go in and take for himself a nation from the midst of a nation by trial and by signs and by wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by a high arm and by great sights, according to all that the Lord our God did in Egypt before your eyes, while you were seeing?

so that you might know that the Lord your God, this one is God, and there is no other besides him

From heaven his voice became audible to instruct you, and on the earth he showed you his great fire, and his words you heard from the midst of the fire

Because he loved your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you, and he himself brought you out from Egypt by his great power

to destroy nations greater and mightier than you from before your face, to bring you in, to give you their land to inherit, as you have today

And you shall know today and turn to your mind that the Lord your God, this is God in the heaven above and on the earth below, and there is no longer besides him.

and you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, as many as I am commanding you today, that it may be well with you and with your sons after you, so that you may be long-lived upon the land which the Lord your God is giving to you all the days

Then Moses set apart three cities beyond the Jordan, toward the east of the sun

to flee there the manslayer who would kill his neighbor, not knowing it, and this one not hating him before yesterday and the third day, and he shall flee to one of these cities and shall live

Bezer in the wilderness, in the land of the plain, for Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadite, and Golan in Bashan for Manasseh

This is the law that Moses set before the sons of Israel

These are the testimonies and the ordinances and the judgments, as many as Moses spoke to the sons of Israel in the wilderness, when they had gone out from the land of Egypt.

beyond the Jordan, in the valley near the house of Phogor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorrites, who dwelt in Heshbon, whom Moses and the sons of Israel struck when they came out of the land of Egypt

And they inherited his land and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorrites who were beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.
