The Koine Bible

If one who has been wounded is found in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to inherit, lying fallen in the field, and they do not know the one who struck him,

then your elders and your judges shall go out and they shall measure around the cities of the one who has been wounded

And the city which is nearest to the one wounded shall take, even the elders of that city, a heifer from the herd, which has not worked and which has not drawn a yoke.

And the elders of that city shall bring the heifer down into a rough ravine, which is neither worked nor sown, and they shall strike the heifer’s neck in the ravine.

And the priests, the Levites, shall come near, because the Lord your God has chosen them to stand by him and to bless in the name of him; and by their mouth shall be every dispute and every blow.

And all the elders of that city, those who are near the wounded man, shall wash their hands over the head of the heifer that has been hamstrung in the valley

And answering they shall say, Our hands have not shed this blood, and our eyes have not seen it.

Be gracious to your people Israel, whom you redeemed, Lord, from the land of Egypt, so that innocent blood may not come to be among your people Israel, and the blood shall be forgiven them

And you shall remove the innocent blood from among yourselves, if you do the good and the pleasing thing before the Lord your God.

But if you go out to war against your enemies, and the Lord your God gives them into your hands, and you plunder their spoil,

and you see among the spoil a woman beautiful in appearance and you desire her and take her to yourself as a wife

and you shall bring her inside into your house and you shall shave her head and you shall trim her nails

And you shall remove the garments of her captivity from her, and she shall sit in your house and weep for her father and her mother a month of days, and after these things you shall go in to her and dwell with her, and she shall be your wife

And it shall be, if you do not wish her, you shall send her away free, and she shall not be sold for money; you shall not make her void, because you humbled her.

And if there become to a man two wives, one of them beloved and one of them hated, and they bear to him, the beloved and the hated, and the firstborn son is of the hated,

And it shall be, in whatever day he gives the things that are his as an inheritance to his sons, he shall not be able to give the firstborn’s portion to the son of the beloved one, overlooking the son of the hated one, the firstborn.

but he shall acknowledge the firstborn son of the hated one, to give to him a double portion of all that may be found to him, because this one is the beginning of his children, and to this belongs the birthright

And if to anyone there be a disobedient and provoking son, not obeying the voice of his father and the voice of his mother, and they discipline him, and he does not listen to them

and his father and his mother shall take hold of him and shall bring him out to the council of his city and to the gate of his place

And they shall say to the men of their city, This son of ours is disobedient and provokes, he does not obey our voice, being a glutton, he is given to drunkenness.

And the men of his city shall stone him with stones, and he shall die; and you shall remove the evil from among you, and the rest, having heard, shall fear.

And if in anyone there happens a sin of a death sentence, and he die, and you hang him on a tree

His body shall not remain overnight on the tree, but with burial you shall bury him on that day, because everyone who hangs on a tree is accursed by God, and you shall not defile the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance
