And Moses was shepherding the sheep of Jothor his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the sheep under the wilderness, and he came to Mount Choreb

And an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the bush, and he sees that the bush is burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed by fire.

And Moses said, Going over, I will see this great sight, why the bush is not burned up.

And when the Lord saw that he was coming near to see, the Lord called him from the bush, saying, Moses, Moses. And he said, What is it?

And he said, Do not come near here; loose the sandal from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground.

And he said to him, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses turned away his face, for he was afraid to look before God.

And the Lord said to Moses, Seeing I have seen the affliction of my people in Egypt, and their cry I have heard from the taskmasters; for I know their pain.

And I came down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them out from that land and to bring them into a good and spacious land, into a land flowing with milk and honey, into the place of the Canaanites and Hittites and Amorrites and Perizzites and Gergashites and Hivites and Jebusites

And now behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to me, and I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

And now come, I will send you to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and you shall bring out my people, the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt.

And Moses said to God, Who am I that I shall go to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and that I shall bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt?

And God said to Moses, saying, Because I shall be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that I am sending you out: in your bringing out my people from Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.

And Moses said to God, Behold, I will come to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; they will ask me, What is his name? What shall I say to them?

And God said to Moses, I am the One who is, and he said, Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, The One who is has sent me to you.

And God said again to Moses, Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel: The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and a memorial for generations to generations.

Go therefore, and gather the elders of the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: The Lord, the God of your fathers, has appeared to me, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, saying, I have surely visited you and the things that have happened to you in Egypt.

and I said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of the Egyptians into the land of the Canaanites and Hittites and Amorrites and Perizzites and Gergesites and Hivites and Jebusites, into a land flowing with milk and honey

And they will listen to your voice, and you and the elders of Israel will go in to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and you will say to him, The God of the Hebrews has called us; let us go, therefore, a journey of three days into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to our God.

But I know that Pharaoh king of Egypt will not allow you to go, except by a mighty hand.

And stretching out my hand, I will strike the Egyptians with all my wonders which I will do among them, and after these things he will send you out.

And I will give favor to this people in the sight of the Egyptians; and when you go away, you shall not go away empty.

A woman shall ask from her neighbor and from the lodger in her house silver vessels and gold vessels and clothing, and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters, and you shall plunder the Egyptians.
