And they set out from Elim, and the whole congregation of the sons of Israel came into the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and between Sinai, and on the fifteenth day of the second month after their going out from the land of Egypt.

And the whole congregation of the sons of Israel was murmuring against Moses and Aaron

And the sons of Israel said to them, Would that we had died struck by the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat over the pots of meat and ate bread to fullness, because you brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with famine.

And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, I am raining for you loaves from heaven, and the people shall go out and shall gather the thing of the day for a day, so that I may test them whether they will walk by my law or not.

And it shall be on the sixth day, and they shall prepare what they may bring in, and it shall be double what they may gather day by day.

And Moses and Aaron said to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, In the evening you shall know that the Lord brought you out from the land of Egypt.

and in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord in his hearing your grumbling against God; and what are we, that you grumble against us?

And Moses said, when the Lord gives you meat to eat in the evening, and bread in the morning to fullness, because the Lord has heard your murmuring, which you murmur against us, and what are we? For your murmuring is not against us, but against God.

And Moses said to Aaron, Say to the whole assembly of the sons of Israel, Draw near before God, for he has heard your murmuring.

And it came to pass, as Aaron was speaking to the whole assembly of the sons of Israel, that they turned toward the wilderness, and the glory of the Lord appeared in a cloud.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying

I have heard the murmuring of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying, In the evening you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread, and you shall know that I am the Lord your God.

And it happened in the evening, and quail came up and covered the camp; in the morning it happened, when the dew had ceased all around the camp,

And behold, on the face of the wilderness, a fine thing, like coriander, white, like frost upon the ground

And the sons of Israel, when they saw it, said each to the other, What is this? for they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, This is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.

This is the word that the Lord has commanded: gather from it, each one for the ones who are fitting, an omer per head, according to the number of your souls; each one with your tentmates, gather it.

And the sons of Israel did so, and they gathered, the one much and the one less.

And when they measured with the gomor, he who had much did not have more, and he who had little did not have less; each gathered according to what was fitting beside himself.

And Moses said to them, Let no one leave any of it until the morning.

And they did not listen to Moses, but some left of it until morning, and it bred worms and became foul, and Moses was angry with them

And they gathered it morning by morning, each one what was fitting for him; but when the sun grew hot, it melted.

And it came to pass on the sixth day that they collected the necessary amount, two omers for each; and all the rulers of the congregation came in and reported it to Moses

And Moses said to them, This is the word which the Lord has spoken: A sabbaths rest, holy to the Lord, is tomorrow. As many things as you may bake, bake, and as many things as you may boil, boil, and all that remains over leave it in storage until the morning.

And they left some of it until morning, just as Moses had commanded them, and it did not become foul, nor did a worm come to be in it.

And Moses said, Eat today, for today is a sabbath to the Lord; it will not be found in the field.

Six days you shall gather, but on the seventh day, sabbaths, because it will not be in it.

And it came to pass on the seventh day that some of the people went out to gather, and they did not find it.

And the Lord said to Moses, How long will you not be willing to hear my commandments and my law?

See, for the Lord has given you this day the sabbaths; therefore he himself has given you on the sixth day bread of two days. Each of you shall sit in your houses; let no one go out from his place on the seventh day.

And the people rested on the seventh day.

And the sons of Israel called its name Manna, and it was like white coriander seed, and its taste was like a cake with honey

And Moses said, This is the word which the Lord commanded: Fill the omer of the manna into a storehouse for your generations, in order that they may see the bread which you ate in the wilderness, when the Lord brought you out of the land of Egypt.

And Moses said to Aaron, Take one golden jar, and put in it a full omer of the manna, and you shall place it before God for preservation for your generations.

as the Lord commanded Moses, and Aaron placed it before the testimony for preservation

And the sons of Israel ate the manna forty years, until they came into an inhabited land; they ate the manna until they arrived into the part of Phoenicia

Now the omer was the tenth of the three measures.
