Son of man, set your face toward Theman and look toward Darom and prophesy against the forest of the south, against Nagab.
And you shall say to the woodland of the Negeb, Hear the word of the Lord: Thus says the Lord, Lord: Behold, I kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour in you every green tree and every dry tree; the flame that has been kindled shall not be quenched, and every face from the east wind to the north shall be burned by it.
And all flesh shall know that I am the Lord, that I have set it ablaze; and it shall not be quenched.
And I said, By no means, Lord, Lord; they are saying to me, Is not this a parable being spoken?
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying
Therefore prophesy, son of man, and set your face against Jerusalem, and look toward their holy places, and you shall prophesy against the land of Israel.
And you shall say to the land of Israel, Behold, I am against you, and I will draw out my sword from its sheath, and I will destroy out of you the unrighteous and the lawless.
Because I will cut off from you the unrighteous and the lawless, thus my dagger shall go out from its sheath against all flesh, from the east wind as far as the north wind.
and all flesh shall know that I, the Lord, have drawn my dagger out of its sheath and it shall not return anymore
And you, son of man, groan with the breaking of your loins, and in pains you shall groan before their eyes.
And it shall be, if they say to you, For what are you groaning? then you shall say, At the report, because it is coming, and every heart shall be broken, and all hands shall be weakened, and every flesh and every spirit shall faint, and all thighs shall be defiled with moisture; behold, it is coming, and it shall be, says the Lord, the Lord.
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying
Son of man, prophesy, and you shall say, Thus says the Lord: Say, sword, sword, sharpen yourself and be enraged.
so that you may slaughter victims, sharpen yourself; so that you may become as polished, ready for a paralysis; slaughter, despise, thrust away every tree
And he gave it ready to grasp; his hand was sharpened. A sword is ready to give it into the hand of the one who pierces.
Cry out and wail, son of man, for it has become among my people; it has become in all those who report of Israel. They shall sojourn on the sword; it has become among my people. Therefore clap at your hand.
For it has been made just, and what if even a tribe is thrust away? It will not be, says the Lord, the Lord.
And you, son of man, prophesy and clap hand against hand, and double the sword; the third sword is the sword of the wounded, the great sword of the wounded, and it will throw them into confusion.
so that the heart may be shattered and the weak may be multiplied; at every one of their gates they have been given over to slaughter of the sword. It has become well, it has become for slaughter, it has become for polishing
Go on, sharpen yourself, on the right and on the left, wherever your face is set to rise.
And I also will clap my hand against my hand, and I will let loose my wrath; I, the Lord, have spoken.
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying
And you, son of man, appoint for yourself two ways for the sword of the king of Babylon to enter; both will go out from one land, and a hand at the beginning of the way of the city, at the beginning.
You have appointed a way for the sword to enter against Rabbath of the sons of Ammon, and against Judea, and against Jerusalem, in the midst of it
For the king of Babylon will stand at the old way, at the beginning of the two ways, to divine a divination, to shake the arrow, and to inquire of the carved images and to inspect the liver from his right hand
The oracle has come against Jerusalem, to cast up a mound, to open the mouth in a cry, to lift up the voice with shouting, to cast up a mound against her gates, and to cast up a ramp and to build siegeworks.
And he himself to them as one divining a divination before them, and he himself causing his iniquities to be remembered, to be remembered
Therefore thus says the Lord: because you have brought your injustices to remembrance, in the revealing of your impieties, for your sins to be seen in all your impieties and in your practices, because you have brought them to remembrance, in these you shall be taken.
And you, profane wicked one, leader of Israel, whose day has come, at the time of iniquity, the end.
Thus says the Lord: Remove the turban and put on the crown; this shall not be such. You have humbled the high one and exalted the lowly.
Injustice, injustice I will make it; and this also shall not be such until he comes to whom it belongs, and I will deliver it to him.
And you, son of man, prophesy, and you shall say, Thus says the Lord to the sons of Ammon and to their reproach; and you shall say, Sword, sword, drawn for slaughter, and drawn for destruction, arise, so that you may flash.
In your vain vision and in your divining falsehoods, to give you over on the necks of the wounded of the lawless, whose day has come in the time of iniquity, the end
Turn aside; do not destroy in this place in which you were born, in your own land I will judge you.
And I will pour out my anger upon you; in the fire of my wrath I will blow upon you, and I will hand you over into the hands of barbarous men, devising destruction.
In fire you shall be for food; your blood shall be in the midst of your land; no remembrance of you shall come to be, because I the Lord have spoken.
