And you, son of man, if you will judge the city of bloods, then make known to it all its lawlessnesses.
ἐρεῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ὦ πόλις ἐκχέουσα αἵματα ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς τοῦ ἐλθεῖν καιρὸν αὐτῆς καὶ ποιοῦσα ἐνθυμήματα καθ᾿ αὑτῆς τοῦ μιαίνειν αὐτήν
And you shall say, Thus says the Lord Lord: O city shedding blood in her midst, for her time to come, and making devices against herself to defile her.
τοῖς αἵμασιν αὐτῶν οἷς ἐξέχεας παραπέπτωκας καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἐνθυμήμασίν σου οἷς ἐποίεις ἐμιαίνου καὶ ἤγγισας τὰς ἡμέρας σου καὶ ἤγαγες καιρὸν ἐτῶν σου διὰ τοῦτο δέδωκά σε εἰς ὄνειδος τοῖς ἔθνεσιν καὶ εἰς ἐμπαιγμὸν πάσαις ταῖς χώραις
In the bloods which you poured out, you have fallen away, and in your thoughts which you made, you were defiled; and you brought near your days and brought the time of your years. Therefore I have given you for reproach to the nations and for mockery to all the lands.
ἐγγιζούσαις πρὸς σὲ καὶ ταῖς μακρὰν ἀπεχούσαις ἀπὸ σοῦ καὶ ἐμπαίξονται ἐν σοί ἀκάθαρτος ἡ ὀνομαστὴ καὶ πολλὴ ἐν ταῖς ἀνομίαις
those drawing near to you and those far away from you, and they will mock you, defiled in reputation and great in lawlessnesses
οἱ ἀφηγούμενοι οἴκου Ισραηλ ἕκαστος πρὸς τοὺς συγγενεῖς αὐτοῦ συνανεφύροντο ἐν σοί ὅπως ἐκχέωσιν αἷμα
Behold, the leaders of the house of Israel, each according to his kin, were mingled together in you, in order to shed blood
καὶ μητέρα ἐκακολόγουν ἐν σοὶ καὶ πρὸς τὸν προσήλυτον ἀνεστρέφοντο ἐν ἀδικίαις ἐν σοί ὀρφανὸν καὶ χήραν κατεδυνάστευον ἐν σοί
Father and mother they abused among you, and toward the sojourner they dealt perversely with injustices among you; they oppressed the orphan and widow among you
And my holy things they despised, and my sabbaths they profaned in you.
Men of robbery are in you, so that they may pour out blood in you, and on the mountains they ate; in you they did lawless things; in your midst.
They uncovered the nakedness of father in you, and the one sitting in impurity they humbled in you
τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἠνομοῦσαν καὶ ἕκαστος τὴν νύμφην αὐτοῦ ἐμίαινεν ἐν ἀσεβείᾳ καὶ ἕκαστος τὴν ἀδελφὴν αὐτοῦ θυγατέρα τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐταπείνουν ἐν σοί
Each one defiled the wife of his neighbor, and each one defiled his daughter-in-law in ungodliness, and each one humbled his sister, the daughter of his father, among you
ἐλαμβάνοσαν ἐν σοί ὅπως ἐκχέωσιν αἷμα τόκον καὶ πλεονασμὸν ἐλαμβάνοσαν ἐν σοί καὶ συνετελέσω συντέλειαν κακίας σου τὴν ἐν καταδυναστείᾳ ἐμοῦ δὲ ἐπελάθου λέγει κύριος
They were receiving gifts in you in order to shed blood; interest and excess they were receiving in you, and you finished the completion of your wickedness, that in oppression, and you forgot me, says the Lord
δὲ πατάξω χεῖρά μου πρὸς χεῖρά μου ἐφ᾿ οἷς συντετέλεσαι οἷς ἐποίησας καὶ ἐπὶ τοῖς αἵμασίν σου τοῖς γεγενημένοις ἐν μέσῳ σου
But if I strike my hand against my hand at what you have completed, at what you have done, and at your bloods that have come to be in your midst
ὑποστήσεται ἡ καρδία σου εἰ κρατήσουσιν αἱ χεῖρές σου ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αἷς ἐγὼ ποιῶ ἐν σοί ἐγὼ κύριος λελάληκα καὶ ποιήσω
Will your heart endure, or will your hands be strong in the days when I am dealing with you? I the Lord have spoken and will do it.
And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will disperse you among the lands, and your uncleanness will fail from you.
And I will inherit you in the sight of the nations, and you shall know that I am the Lord.
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying
ἀνθρώπου ἰδοὺ γεγόνασί μοι ὁ οἶκος Ισραηλ ἀναμεμειγμένοι πάντες χαλκῷ καὶ σιδήρῳ καὶ κασσιτέρῳ καὶ μολίβῳ ἐν μέσῳ ἀργυρίου ἀναμεμειγμένος ἐστίν
Son of man, behold, the house of Israel has become to me all mixed together, with bronze and iron and tin and lead, in the midst of silver; it is mixed together.
τοῦτο εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀνθ᾿ ὧν ἐγένεσθε πάντες εἰς σύγκρασιν μίαν διὰ τοῦτο ἐγὼ εἰσδέχομαι ὑμᾶς εἰς μέσον Ιερουσαλημ
Therefore say, Thus says the Lord: Because you have all become into one mixture, therefore I am bringing you into the midst of Jerusalem
εἰσδέχεται ἄργυρος καὶ χαλκὸς καὶ σίδηρος καὶ κασσίτερος καὶ μόλιβος εἰς μέσον καμίνου τοῦ ἐκφυσῆσαι εἰς αὐτὸ πῦρ τοῦ χωνευθῆναι οὕτως εἰσδέξομαι ὑμᾶς ἐν ὀργῇ μου καὶ συνάξω καὶ χωνεύσω ὑμᾶς
As silver and copper and iron and tin and lead are taken into the midst of a furnace to blow fire into it, so I will take you in my wrath and gather and melt you
And I will blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst.
τρόπον χωνεύεται ἀργύριον ἐν μέσῳ καμίνου οὕτως χωνευθήσεσθε ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε διότι ἐγὼ κύριος ἐξέχεα τὸν θυμόν μου ἐφ᾿ ὑμᾶς
As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall you be melted in the midst of it, and you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have poured out my wrath upon you
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Son of man, say to it: You are a land not being rained on, and rain did not come upon you in the day of wrath
οἱ ἀφηγούμενοι ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς ὡς λέοντες ὠρυόμενοι ἁρπάζοντες ἁρπάγματα ψυχὰς κατεσθίοντες ἐν δυναστείᾳ τιμὰς λαμβάνοντες ἐν ἀδικίᾳ καὶ αἱ χῆραί σου ἐπληθύνθησαν ἐν μέσῳ σου
whose rulers in the midst of her were like roaring lions, seizing prey, devouring souls, taking honors by violence and iniquity, and your widows were multiplied in your midst
οἱ ἱερεῖς αὐτῆς ἠθέτησαν νόμον μου καὶ ἐβεβήλουν τὰ ἅγιά μου ἀνὰ μέσον ἁγίου καὶ βεβήλου οὐ διέστελλον καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἀκαθάρτου καὶ τοῦ καθαροῦ οὐ διέστελλον καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν σαββάτων μου παρεκάλυπτον τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐβεβηλούμην ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν
And her priests rejected my law and profaned my holy things; between holy and profane they did not distinguish, and between unclean and clean they did not distinguish, and from my sabbaths they hid their eyes, and I was profaned in the midst of them.
ἄρχοντες αὐτῆς ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς ὡς λύκοι ἁρπάζοντες ἁρπάγματα τοῦ ἐκχέαι αἷμα ὅπως πλεονεξίᾳ πλεονεκτῶσιν
Her rulers in her midst are like wolves seizing prey, to pour out blood, so that they may gain gain by greed
οἱ προφῆται αὐτῆς ἀλείφοντες αὐτοὺς πεσοῦνται ὁρῶντες μάταια μαντευόμενοι ψευδῆ λέγοντες τάδε λέγει κύριος καὶ κύριος οὐ λελάληκεν
And her prophets, plastering them, will fall, seeing vanities, divining lies, saying, Thus says the Lord, and the Lord has not spoken.
τῆς γῆς ἐκπιεζοῦντες ἀδικίᾳ καὶ διαρπάζοντες ἁρπάγματα πτωχὸν καὶ πένητα καταδυναστεύοντες καὶ πρὸς τὸν προσήλυτον οὐκ ἀναστρεφόμενοι μετὰ κρίματος
the people of the land oppressing with injustice and plundering plunder, oppressing the poor and the needy, and not dealing rightly with the proselyte
ἐζήτουν ἐξ αὐτῶν ἄνδρα ἀναστρεφόμενον ὀρθῶς καὶ ἑστῶτα πρὸ προσώπου μου ὁλοσχερῶς ἐν καιρῷ τῆς γῆς τοῦ μὴ εἰς τέλος ἐξαλεῖψαι αὐτήν καὶ οὐχ εὗρον
And I sought from among them a man behaving uprightly and standing before my face wholly in the time of the land, so as not to wipe it out to the end, and I found not
ἐξέχεα ἐπ᾿ αὐτὴν θυμόν μου ἐν πυρὶ ὀργῆς μου τοῦ συντελέσαι τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτῶν εἰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν δέδωκα λέγει κύριος κύριος
And I poured out my wrath upon them in the fire of my anger to bring their ways to an end; upon their heads I have given, says the Lord, Lord
