And the word of the Lord came to me, saying

Son of man, there were two women, daughters of one mother

And they committed fornication in Egypt in their youth; there their breasts fell, there they were deflowered

And their names were Oola the elder and Ooliba her sister, and they became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. And their names were Samaria, Oola, and Jerusalem, Ooliba.

And Oholah played the harlot away from me, and she set herself upon her lovers, upon the Assyrians, who were near to her.

clothed in blue, leaders and commanders, all of them chosen young men, horsemen riding on horses

And she gave her fornication upon them, chosen sons of Assyrians, all of them, and upon all on whom she set herself, in all her devices she was defiled

And her harlotry from Egypt she did not leave, because with her they lay in her youth, and they themselves deflowered her and poured out their harlotry upon her.

Therefore I gave her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the sons of the Assyrians, upon whom she was doting.

They uncovered her shame; they took her sons and her daughters, and they killed her with the sword, and she became a byword among women, and they executed judgments on her among the daughters.

And her sister Oholibah saw it, and she corrupted her ardor more than her and her prostitution more than the prostitution of her sister.

Upon the sons of the Assyrians she set commanders and captains, those near to her, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding on horses, chosen young men, all of them.

And I saw that one way of the two had been defiled.

And she added to her prostitution, and she saw men drawn on the wall, images of Chaldeans drawn with vermilion

girded with embroidered things on their loins, and dyed turbans on their heads; the appearance of threefoldness of all, the likeness of the sons of the Chaldeans, the land of their native country

And she set upon them with the sight of her eyes, and she sent messengers to them into the land of the Chaldeans.

And sons of Babylon came to her, to a bed of those who were lodging, and they defiled her in her prostitution, and she was defiled by them, and her soul turned away from them.

And she uncovered her prostitution and uncovered her shame, and my soul turned away from her, as my soul turned away from her sister.

And you multiplied your harlotry, to call to remembrance the days of your youth, in which you prostituted yourself in Egypt.

and you set yourself toward the Chaldeans, whose flesh was like the flesh of donkeys and whose genitals were like the genitals of horses

And you visited the lawlessness of your youth, what you were doing in Egypt, in your lodging, where the breasts of your youth were.

Therefore Oholibah, thus says the Lord: behold, I am stirring up your lovers against you, from whom your soul turned away, and I will bring them against you from around on every side

the sons of Babylon and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the sons of the Assyrians with them, chosen young men, governors and commanders all of them, triple and renowned, riding on horses

And all will come upon you from the north, chariots and wheels, with a multitude of peoples, shields and bucklers; and they will set a watch against you all around, and I will give judgment before them, and they will take vengeance on you by their judgments.

And I will set my jealousy against you, and they will deal with you in wrath of anger; they will take away your nose and your ears, and your remnant they will cast down with the sword; they themselves will take your sons and your daughters, and fire will devour your remnant.

And they shall strip you of your clothing and shall take away the vessels of your boasting.

And I will turn away your ungodliness from you and your harlotry from the land of Egypt, and you shall surely not lift your eyes upon them, and of Egypt you shall surely remember no longer

For thus says the Lord Lord: behold, I give you into the hands of those whom you hate, from whom your soul has turned away.

And they shall do in you in hatred, and they shall take all your pains and your labors, and you shall be naked and exposed, and the shame of your prostitution and your impiety and your prostitution shall be uncovered.

They did these things to you, when you prostituted yourself after the nations, and you defiled yourself with their thoughts.

You have walked in the way of your sister, and I will give her cup into your hands

Thus says the Lord: you shall drink the cup of your sister, the deep and wide one, the overflowing one, in order to bring to an end

You shall be filled with drunkenness and bewilderment, and the cup of destruction, the cup of your sister Samaria.

and you shall drink it, and I will turn away her feasts and her new moons, because I have spoken, says the Lord

Therefore thus says the Lord: because you forgot me and cast me behind your back, you also bear your impiety and your harlotry.

And the Lord said to me: Son of man, will you not judge Oholah and Oholibah, and declare to them their lawless deeds?

For they committed adultery, and blood was in their hands; with their plans they committed adultery; and their children, whom they bore for me, they led through the fire to them.

Moreover, they did these things to me: they were defiling my holy things and were profaning my sabbaths.

And in their slaughtering their children to their idols they also went into my holy things to profane them, and because they were doing thus in the midst of my house

And because for the men coming from far away, to whom you had sent messengers to them, and as soon as they came you immediately bathed and painted your eyes and adorned yourself with ornamentation,

And you sat on a prepared couch, and a table arranged was before her face, and my incense and my oil rejoiced in them

and a voice of harmony they were striking up, and toward men from a multitude of men coming from the wilderness, and they were giving bracelets upon their hands and a crown of boasting upon their heads

And I said, Do they not commit adultery with these things, and works of a prostitute? And she herself has prostituted herself.

And they went in to her, in the way that they go in to a prostitute woman; thus they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah, to do lawlessness.

And righteous men, they shall themselves avenge them with the vengeance of an adulteress and with the vengeance of blood, because they are adulteresses and blood is in their hands

Thus says the Lord, Lord: Bring up against them a crowd, and put turmoil and plundering among them.

And stone them with stones of crowds, and pierce them with their swords; their sons and their daughters they shall kill, and their houses they shall burn with fire

And I will turn away lawlessness from the land, and all the women shall be disciplined, and they shall not at all do according to their lawlessnesses.

And your impiety shall be given upon you, and you shall receive the sins of your devices, and you shall know that I am the Lord
