And it happened in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, a word of the Lord came to me, saying

Son of man, because Tyre said against Jerusalem, Well done, she has been broken; the nations have perished; she has turned toward me; the full one has been laid waste.
Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I am against you, Tyre, and I will bring up against you many nations, as the sea rises with its waves.
And they will throw down the walls of Tyre and will throw down your towers, and I will winnow her dust from her and will give her into a bare rock.
She shall be a spreading place for nets in the midst of the sea, for I have spoken, says the Lord, and she shall become plunder for the nations.
And her daughters that are in the plain shall be slain by the sword, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
For thus says the Lord: Behold, I am bringing upon you, Tyre, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the north, king of kings; he is with horses and chariots and horsemen and a gathering of many nations exceedingly.
He will kill with a sword your daughters who are in the plain, and he will give a watch against you and will build around you and make against you a rampart all around and a circumvallation of weapons, and he will set his spears opposite you.
He will cast down your walls and your towers with his swords.
From the multitude of his horses their dust will cover you, and from the sound of his horsemen and of the wheels of his chariots your walls will be shaken, as he enters your gates as one entering into a city from a plain.
With the hoofs of his horses they will trample all your streets; he will kill your people with the sword, and he will bring down to the ground the support of your strength.
And he shall plunder your power and shall despoil your possessions and shall throw down your walls and shall tear down your desirable houses, and your stones and your wood and your dust he shall cast into the midst of the sea.
And I will put an end to the multitude of your musicians, and the sound of your harps shall no longer be heard.
And I will give you as a bare rock; you shall be a drying place for nets; you shall certainly no longer be built, because I have spoken, says the Lord.
For thus says the Lord Lord to Tyre: Will not the islands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when the sword is broken in your midst?
And all the princes of the nations of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and they shall take off their mitres from their heads and shall strip off their variegated clothing; they shall be beside themselves with awe; they shall sit on the ground and shall fear for their ruin and shall groan over you.
And they shall take up over you a lamentation and shall say to you, How you were destroyed from the sea, the praised city, the one that gave her terror to all who inhabited her.
And the islands shall fear from the day of your fall.
For thus says the Lord Lord: When I give you as a desolated city, like the cities that shall not be inhabited, in my bringing up over you the deep, and much water covers you,
And I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to a people of old, and I will make you dwell in the depths of the earth, like an everlasting desolation, with those who go down to the pit, so that you may not be inhabited nor stand up again on the land of the living.
I will make you a destruction, and you shall no longer exist forever, says the Lord, Lord.
