And Abram was ninety-nine years old, and the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am your God; be pleasing before me, and become blameless.

And I will set my covenant between me and between you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.

And Abram fell on his face, and God spoke to him, saying

And I, behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be father of a multitude of nations.

And your name shall no longer be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, because I have made you father of many nations.

And I will increase you very, very much, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come out from you.

And I will establish my covenant between me and between you and between your seed after you for their generations into an eternal covenant, to be your God and the God of your seed after you

And I will give to you and to your seed after you the land in which you sojourn, all the land of Canaan, for an eternal possession, and I will be to them God.

And God said to Abraham, But you shall keep my covenant, you and your seed after you, for their generations.

And this is the covenant that you shall keep between me and you and between your seed after you for their generations: every male among you shall be circumcised.

And you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be for a sign of covenant between me and you

And a child eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, the one born in the house and the one bought with money from any foreign son, who is not of your seed.

He shall be circumcised with circumcision, the born servant of your house and the one bought with silver, and my covenant shall be on your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

And any uncircumcised male, who shall not be circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin on the eighth day, that soul shall be cut off from its kindred, because he has broken my covenant.

And God said to Abraham, Sarai, your wife, her name shall not be called Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.

And I will bless her and give you a child from her, and I will bless him, and he shall become nations, and kings of nations shall be from him.

And Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his mind, saying, Will there be to one a hundred years old, and will Sarah, being ninety years old, bear?

And Abraham said to God, O that Ishmael might live before you.

And God said to Abraham, Yes, behold, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac, and I will establish my covenant with him as an eternal covenant, and with his offspring after him.

And concerning Ishmael, behold, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and I will increase him and multiply him exceedingly. He will father twelve nations, and I will make him into a great nation.

But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this season in the other year.

And God finished speaking to him, and God went up from Abraham

And Abraham took Ishmael his son and all those born in his house and all those bought with money and every male of the men in the house of Abraham, and he circumcised their foreskins on that same day, as God had spoken to him.

And Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he circumcised the flesh of his foreskin.

And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when the flesh of his foreskin was circumcised.

In the time of that day Abraham was circumcised, and Ishmael his son.

And all the men of his house and the household servants and the bought with silver from foreign nations, he circumcised them
