And God appeared to him by the oak of Mamre, as he was sitting at the door of his tent in the heat of the day.

And lifting up his eyes, he saw, and behold, three men were standing over against him; and when he saw, he ran to meet them from the door of his tent and bowed down to the ground.
And he said, Lord, if indeed I have found favor before you, do not pass by your servant.
Let water now be taken, and wash your feet, and cool yourselves under the tree
And I will take bread, and you will eat, and after this you will pass on on your way, for this reason you turned aside to your servant. And they said, So do as you have said.
And Abraham hastened to the tent to Sarah and said to her, Hurry and knead three measures of fine flour and make cakes hidden under ashes.
And Abraham ran to the cattle and took a tender and good calf and gave it to the servant, and he hastened to prepare it
And he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared and set them before them, and they ate; but he was standing by them under the tree
And he said to him, Where is Sarah your wife? And he, answering, said, Behold, in the tent.
And he said, Returning I will come to you according to this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son. And Sarah was listening at the door of the tent, being behind him.
Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in days, and it had ceased for Sarah to have the women’s things.
And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, I have not yet happened until now, and my lord is older.
And the Lord said to Abraham, Why is it that Sarah laughed within herself, saying, Shall I indeed truly bear a child, and I have grown old?
Is any word impossible with God? At this appointed time I will return to you at this season, and Sarah shall have a son.
Then Sarah denied, saying, I did not laugh, for she was afraid; and he said, No, but you laughed.
And the men, having risen from there, looked toward the face of Sodom and Gomorrah; and Abraham was going with them, escorting them along.
And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham my servant what I am doing?
But Abraham, becoming, shall become into a great and numerous nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him.
For I knew that he would command his sons and his house after him, and they will keep the ways of the Lord, to do righteousness and judgment, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham all that he spoke to him.
And the Lord said, The outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah has been multiplied, and their sins are very great.
I will go down then and see whether they are accomplishing according to their outcry that comes to me; and if not, that I may know.
And the men, having turned from there, came to Sodom; but Abraham was still standing before the Lord.
And Abraham drew near and said, Will you destroy the righteous with the ungodly, and will the righteous be as the ungodly?
If there should be fifty righteous in the city, will you destroy them? Will you not spare the whole place for the sake of the fifty righteous, if they should be in it?
Far be it from you to do this thing, to kill the righteous with the ungodly, so that the righteous would be as the ungodly; far be it from you; the one who judges all the earth, will you not do judgment?
And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, I will spare all the place for their sake.
And Abraham answered and said, Now I have begun to speak to the Lord, and I am earth and ashes.
But if the fifty righteous should be diminished by five, will you destroy the whole city because of the five? And he said, I will by no means destroy it if I find there forty-five.
And he added yet to speak to him and said, But if there should be found there forty? And he said, I will not destroy for the sake of the forty.
And he said, Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: if there should be found there thirty. And he said, I will certainly not destroy it if I find there thirty.
And he said, Since I have begun to speak to the Lord, if however twenty should be found there? And he said, I will by no means destroy it on account of the twenty.
And he said, Let not the Lord be angry if I speak yet once; but if there shall be found there ten? And he said, I will by no means destroy it for the sake of the ten.
And the Lord departed when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.
