Rise up and flee to Mesopotamia, to the house of Bathouel, your mother’s father, and take for yourself from there a wife from the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother
and may he give to you the blessing of Abraham my father, to you and to your offspring with you, to inherit the land of your sojourning, which God gave to Abraham
And Esau saw that Isaac blessed Jacob and sent him away into Mesopotamia of Syria to take for himself a wife from there, in blessing him and commanding him, saying, You shall not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan.
And he came upon a place and slept there, for the sun had set; and he took from the stones of the place and put them by his head, and slept in that place.
And the Lord had stood over it and said, I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac; do not fear. The land on which you are sleeping, on it I will give it to you and to your seed.
And your seed shall be like the sand of the earth, and it shall spread out to the sea and to the south and to the north and to the east, and in you all the tribes of the earth shall be blessed, and in your seed.
And behold, I am with you, keeping you on every way where you may go, and I will bring you back into this land, because I will by no means leave you until I have done all that I have spoken to you.
And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If the Lord God should be with me and should guard me on this way that I am going and should give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,
