And Jacob, lifting up his eyes, saw, and behold, Esau his brother was coming, and four hundred men with him. And Jacob divided the children to Leah and Rachel and the two maidservants.

And he put the two maidservants and their sons first, and Leah and her children behind, and Rachel and Joseph last.

And he himself went on ahead of them and bowed down to the ground seven times until his brother drew near to him

And Esau ran to meet him, and embracing him, he kissed him, and fell upon his neck, and they both wept.

And lifting up his eyes, he saw the women and the children, and said, What are these to you? And he said, The children with which God has shown mercy to your servant.

And the maidservants and their children drew near, and they bowed down.

And Leah and her children drew near and bowed down, and after these Rachel and Joseph drew near and bowed down.

And he said, What are all these camps of yours which I have met? And he said, so that your servant might find favor before you, lord.

But Esau said, I have many things, brother; let what is yours be yours.

And Jacob said, If I have found favor before you, receive the gifts from my hands, for this reason, because I have seen your face as one might see the face of God, and you will be gracious to me.

Take my blessings which I have brought to you, because God has shown mercy to me and I have all things; and he urged him, and he took.

And he said, Let us set out and we will travel straight ahead.

And my lord said to him, He knows that the children are tender, and the sheep and the cattle are nursing with me; if therefore I pursue them one day, all the livestock will die.

Let my lord go on before his servant, and I will strengthen myself along the way, according to the pace of the traveling that is before me and according to the foot of the little ones, until I come to my lord at Seir.

And Esau said, Let me leave with you some of the people that are with me. But he said, Why is this? Let me find grace in your sight, my lord.

So Esau returned on that day on his way to Seir

And Jacob departed to Sukkoth and made for himself there houses, and for his livestock he made tents; therefore he called the name of that place Sukkoth.

And Jacob came into Salem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Mesopotamia of Syria, and he encamped before the city.

And he acquired the portion of the field where he had pitched his tent there from Emmor, father of Shechem, for one hundred lambs.

And he set up there an altar and called upon the God of Israel
