And it happened after these things that the chief cupbearer of the king of Egypt and the chief baker sinned against their lord, the king of Egypt

And Pharaoh was angry with his two eunuchs, with the chief cupbearer and with the chief baker

And he put them in custody with the prison keeper in the prison, in the place where Joseph had been led there

And the chief jailer put them in charge with Joseph, and he was attending them; and they were days in the prison

And both of them saw a dream, each one a dream in one night, the vision of his dream, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, who were to the king of Egypt, the ones being in the prison.

And Joseph went in to them in the morning and saw them, and they were troubled

And he asked the eunuchs of Pharaoh who were with him in the prison with his lord, saying, Why is it that your faces are sad today?

And they said to him, We saw a dream, and there is no one to interpret it. And Joseph said to them, Is not the interpretation of them through God? Tell it therefore to me.

And the chief cupbearer related his dream to Joseph and said, In my sleep there was a vine before me

And in the vine were three tendrils, and it was blossoming, having put forth shoots; its clusters of grapes were ripe.

and the cup of Pharaoh was in my hand, and I took the cluster and pressed it out into the cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand

And Joseph said to him, This is its interpretation: the three baskets are three days.

In three more days Pharaoh will remember your office and will restore you to your chief cupbearing, and you will give Pharaoh’s cup into his hand according to your former office, as you were cupbearing.

But remember me for yourself when it goes well with you, and you will do mercy with me, and you will make mention of me to Pharaoh, and you will bring me out of this stronghold.

For I was stolen by theft out of the land of the Hebrews, and here I have done nothing, but they cast me into this pit.

And the chief baker saw that he had interpreted rightly, and he said to Joseph, I also saw a dream, and I thought I was carrying three baskets of fine bread on my head.

and in the basket that was above all kinds of things which King Pharaoh eats, the work of a baker, and the birds of the sky were eating them from the basket that was above my head

And Joseph answered and said to him, This is its interpretation: the three baskets are three days.

In three more days Pharaoh will remove your head from you and will hang you on a tree, and the birds of the sky will eat your flesh from you

And it came to pass on the third day, it was Pharaoh’s birthday, and he made a banquet for all his servants, and he remembered the chief cupbearer and the chief baker in the midst of his servants.

And he restored the chief cupbearer to his office, and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.

But he hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph interpreted to them.

But the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.
