And it happened after these things that it was reported to Joseph, saying, Your father is sick; and taking his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, he came to Jacob

And it was reported to Jacob, saying, Behold, your son Joseph is coming to you; and Israel strengthened himself and sat on the bed.

And Jacob said to Joseph, My God appeared to me in Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me.

and he said to me, behold, I will increase you and multiply you and make you into assemblies of nations, and I will give to you this land and to your seed after you as an everlasting possession

Now therefore, your two sons, who were born to you in Egypt before my coming to you into Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh shall be mine, as Reuben and Simeon are mine.

And the offspring that you may beget after these shall be yours; in the name of their brothers they shall be called in their inheritances.

But I, when I was coming from Mesopotamia of Syria, Rachel your mother died in the land of Canaan, while I was near the racetrack of Chabratha of the land, to come to Ephratha; and I buried her in the way of the racetrack; this is Bethlehem.

And Israel, seeing the sons of Joseph, said, Who are these to you?

And Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me here. And Jacob said, Bring them near to me, so that I may bless them.

Now the eyes of Israel were heavy from old age, and he was not able to see, and he brought them near to him and kissed them and embraced them

And Israel said to Joseph, Behold, I have not been deprived of seeing your face, and behold, God has shown me also your offspring.

And Joseph brought them out from his knees, and they bowed down to him with their face on the ground.

And Joseph took his two sons, Ephraim in his right hand, from Israel’s left, and Manasseh in his left, from Israel’s right, and brought them near to him.

And Israel, stretching out his right hand, laid it upon Ephraim’s head, and this one was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, crossing his hands.

And he blessed them and said, the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac pleased, the God who has been feeding me from my youth until this day

The angel who delivers me from all evils bless these children, and my name shall be called upon them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they be multiplied into a very great multitude on the earth.

And Joseph, seeing that the father had laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him, and Joseph took hold of the hand of his father to remove it from the head of Ephraim to the head of Manasseh

And Joseph said to his father, Not thus, my father, for this is the firstborn; lay your right hand upon his head.

And he did not want, but said, I know, child, I know; and this one shall become a people, and this one shall be exalted, but his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall be for a multitude of nations.

And he blessed them on that day, saying, In you Israel shall be blessed, saying, God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh; and he put Ephraim before Manasseh.

And Israel said to Joseph, Behold, I am dying, and God will be with you, and he will bring you back to the land of your fathers.

And I give to you Shechem, a special portion above your brothers, which I took from the hand of the Amorrites with my sword and my bow.
