Text size:
How long, Lord, shall I cry out and you will not at all listen? I shall shout to you, being wronged, and you will not save.
Why have you shown me troubles and labors, to look at misery and ungodliness? Judgment has come from before me, and the judge receives.
Therefore the law is scattered abroad, and judgment does not go forth unto the end, because the ungodly man oppresses the righteous; for this reason judgment will go forth perverted.
See, you despisers, and look, and marvel marvelously, and vanish away, because I am working a work in your days which you shall by no means believe if anyone should recount it.
For behold, I am rousing up against you the Chaldeans, the fighters, that bitter and swift nation, that goes across the breadths of the land to possess dwellings not its own.
Terrible and manifest is he; from him shall his judgment be, and his taking will go out from him.
And his horses will leap above leopards and will be sharper than the wolves of Arabia, and his horsemen will ride, and they will rush from far away and will fly like an eagle eager to eat.
Destruction will come upon the ungodly who have set themselves against their faces from the opposite side, and he will gather captivity like sand.
And he himself shall make a mockery of kings, and tyrants are his playthings, and he himself shall mock every stronghold and shall throw up a mound and seize it
Then the spirit will change and it will pass through, and this strength will make propitiation to my God.
Are not you from the beginning, Lord my holy God? and we shall not die. Lord, you have appointed him for judgment, and he has formed me to reprove his discipline.
Your eyes are pure, not to see evils, and you are not able to look upon troubles; why do you look upon despisers? Will you keep silent while the impious swallows up the righteous?
and you will make the men like the fish of the sea and like the creeping things that have no leader
He has drawn up all of them with a hook, and he has dragged him in a net, and he has gathered him in his seine; because of this his heart will rejoice and be glad.
Therefore he will sacrifice to his net and burn incense to his dragnet, because by them he has made his portion fat and his food choice.
Therefore will he throw his net around and continually, to kill nations, he will not spare.
