For the vision is yet for a time, and it will arise at the end and not in vain; if it should delay, wait for it, because coming it will come and will not delay.
And the proud and arrogant man, a scoffer, will by no means pass on, who has enlarged his soul as Hades, and this one is like death, not being satisfied, and he will gather all the nations against him, and he will receive to himself all the peoples.
Will not all these take up a parable against him and a proverb for his saying, and they will say, Woe to him who multiplies for himself what is not his—how long also?—and who loads his yoke heavily.

What does a carved image profit, that they have carved it? They fashioned it, a molten image, a false apparition. For the maker of it has trusted in his own creation, to make mute idols.
Woe to the one who says to the wood, Awake! Be stirred up! and to the stone, Be exalted! And it is itself a delusion; this is a plating of gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in it.
