According to the word of Ephraim, he himself received statutes in Israel, and he set them for Baal, and he died.

And he added still to sin, and they made for themselves a molten image from their silver, according to the likeness of idols, the work of craftsmen, completed for them. They themselves say, Sacrifice men, for the calves have failed.
Therefore they shall be like the morning cloud and like the early dew passing away, like chaff blown away from the threshing floor and like vapor from locusts
But I am the Lord your God, who makes the heaven firm and creates the earth, whose hands created all the host of heaven, and I did not show them to you for you to go after them; and I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and you shall know no God except me, and there is no savior besides me.
I fed you in the wilderness, in an uninhabited land
According to their pastures, and they were filled to fullness, and their hearts were exalted; because of this they forgot me
And I will be to them as a panther and as a leopard by the way of the Assyrians
I will meet them like a bear bereaved, and I will tear open the enclosure of their heart, and there the cubs of the wood shall devour them; wild beasts of the field shall tear them apart.
Your ruin, Israel—who will help?
Where is this king of yours now, and let him save you in all your cities; let him judge you, whom you said, Give me a king and ruler
And I gave you a king in my anger, and I held on in my wrath
The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hidden.
Pains as of one giving birth will come upon him; this your son is not prudent, for he shall not remain steadfast in the breaking of children.
From the hand of Hades I will rescue them, and from death I will redeem them. Where is your justice, O death? Where is your sting, O Hades? Comfort has been hidden from my eyes.
Because this one will be distinguished among brothers, the Lord will bring on him a scorching wind from the desert, and he will dry up his veins, he will desolate his springs; he himself will dry up his land and all his desirable vessels.
