I will send out, as creeping things on the land, unless a rock; the mountain of Zion is desolate.

Isaiah 16
Greek text followed verse by verse by a direct English translation.
Text size:
For you will be like a fledgling bird taken away in flight, daughter of Moab, and afterward Arnon
Take counsel, make more, make a shelter of mourning for her continually; in midday darkness they flee, they were driven out; be not led away.
Let the fugitives of Moab sojourn with you; they shall be a shelter for you from the face of the pursuer, for your alliance has been taken away and the ruler has perished, the one trampling on the earth.
And a throne shall be established with mercy, and one shall sit upon it in truth in the tent of David, judging and seeking judgment and hastening righteousness.
We have heard the insolence of Moab, he is very insolent; you have lifted up his pride; not so your oracle.
Not so shall Moab wail; for in the Moabite country all shall wail, to those who dwell in Deseth, meditations, and you shall not be put to shame.
The fields of Heshbon shall mourn, the vine of Sibmah; those who drink up the nations, trample down its vines as far as Jazer; you shall not join together; wander through the wilderness. The envoys were left behind; for they crossed through the wilderness.
Therefore I will weep as the weeping of Iazer, the vine of Sebama; Heshbon and Elealeh have cast down your trees, because upon your harvest and upon your vintage I will trample, and all shall fall down
And joy and gladness will be taken away from your vineyards, and in your vineyards they will surely not be glad, and they will surely not tread wine into the winepresses; for it has ceased.
Therefore my belly for Moab will sound like a harp, and my inward parts like a wall which you have renewed
And it shall be for you to be ashamed, because Moab has labored over the altars, and she shall enter into her handmade things in order to pray, but she shall by no means be able to deliver him out
This is the word that the Lord spoke concerning Moab, when he also spoke it
And now I say, in three years, years of a hired worker, the glory of Moab shall be dishonored in all the great wealth, and he shall be left few in number and not honorable.
