Then the Lord spoke to Isaiah, saying, Go and take off the sackcloth from your waist and untie your sandals from your feet. And he did thus, going naked and barefoot.
And the Lord said: Just as Isaiah my servant has gone naked and barefoot three years, it shall be a sign and a wonder to the Egyptians and to the Ethiopians.
For thus the king of the Assyrians will lead away the captivity of Egypt and of the Ethiopians, young men and old men, naked and barefoot, with the shame of Egypt uncovered.
And the inhabitants of this island will say, Behold, we were trusting to flee to them for help, who were not able to be saved from the king of the Assyrians, and how shall we be saved?
