The vision of Tyre: wail, ships of Carthage, because it has perished and no longer come from the land of the Kittians; it has been led away captive.

To whom have the inhabitants in the island become like, the merchants of Phoenicia, crossing over the sea?

On many waters was the seed of the merchants, as the harvest being brought in, the merchants of the nations.

Be ashamed, Sidon, the sea has said, and the strength of the sea has said, I did not labor in birth, nor did I give birth, nor did I bring up young men, nor did I exalt virgins

And when it becomes heard in Egypt, pain will take hold of them concerning Tyre.

Pass over to Carthage; wail, you who dwell in this island.

Was this not your insolence from the beginning, before she was given over?

Who has planned these things against Tyre? Is she less than this, or does she not have power? Her merchants are glorious, rulers of the land.

The Lord of hosts has planned to destroy all the pride of the glorious ones and to dishonor every glorious one on the earth.

Work your land, for no longer does a ship come from Carthage.

And your hand no longer prevails over the sea, you who provoke kings. The Lord of hosts has given command concerning Canaan to destroy its strength.

And they will say, You shall no longer continue to insolence and to wrong the daughter of Sidon; and if you go to the Kittim, there also there will be no rest for you.

and into the land of the Chaldeans, and this has been laid waste by the Assyrians; there also there will be no rest for you, because its wall has fallen

Wail, ships of Carthage, for your stronghold has been destroyed

And it shall be in that day: Tyre shall be left for seventy years, like the time of a king, like the time of a man, and it shall be after seventy years, Tyre shall be as the song of a harlot.

Take a harp, go about the cities, forgotten harlot; play well, sing many songs, so that there may be mention of you.

And it shall be after seventy years that God will make a visitation of Tyre, and again it shall be restored to the ancient state, and it shall be a trading place for all the kingdoms of the inhabited world.

And her merchandise and her pay will be holy to the Lord; it will not be gathered for them, but for those who dwell before the Lord, all her merchandise, to eat and to drink and to be filled, for a contribution, a memorial before the Lord.
