Woe, Ariel, city that David fought against! Gather the produce year upon year; for you shall eat with Moab.

For I will oppress Ariel, and her strength and her wealth shall be to me

And I will encircle you like David, and I will cast around you a siege wall, and I will set towers around you.

And your words shall be humbled to the ground, and to the ground your words shall go down, and your voice shall be as those speaking from the ground, and your voice shall be weak toward the earth.

And the wealth of the impious shall be like dust from a wheel and like flying chaff, and it shall be like a moment, suddenly

From the Lord of hosts there will be a visitation, with thunder and earthquake and a great voice, a tempest being carried along and a flame of fire devouring

And it shall be as the one dreaming in sleep: the wealth of all the nations, all who have waged war against Ariel, and all those who have marched against Jerusalem, and all who have been gathered against her and afflicting her

And they shall be as those who in sleep are drinking and eating, and when they have risen their dream is vain, and just as a thirsty man dreams as one drinking, and when he has risen he is still thirsty, but his soul has hoped in vain, so shall the wealth of all the nations be, as many as have marched against Mount Zion.

Be broken and be amazed and reel. Not from strong drink nor from wine.

For the Lord has made you drink a spirit of deep sleep, and he will close their eyes, and of their prophets, and of their rulers, the seers of the hidden things.

And all these words will be to you like the words of this sealed book, which if they give it to a man who knows letters, saying, Read these, then he will say, I am not able to read; for it is sealed.

And this book shall be given into the hands of a man not knowing letters, and he shall say to him, Read this, and he shall say, I do not know letters.

And the Lord said: This people draws near to me with their lips; but their heart is far away from me; but in vain do they reverence me, teaching commandments and doctrines of men.

Therefore behold, I will add to remove this people, and I will remove them, and I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the understanding ones I will hide

Woe to those who make counsel deeply and not through the Lord; woe to those who make counsel in secret, and their works shall be in darkness, and they shall say, Who has seen us, and who will know us, or what we are doing?

Will you not be regarded as the potter’s clay? Shall the thing molded say to the one who molded it, You did not mold me, or the thing made to the one who made it, You did not make me intelligently?

Is it not yet a little while, and Lebanon shall be changed like the mountain of Carmel, and the mountain of Carmel shall be accounted as a forest?

And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and those in darkness and those in the mist, the eyes of the blind shall see.

And the poor shall exult because of the Lord in gladness, and those despised by men shall be filled with gladness

The lawless man has failed and the proud man has perished, and those who act lawlessly have been utterly destroyed because of evil.

And those who make men sin by a word, and all who reprove at the gates, they will lay a stumbling block, and they turned aside the righteous by unrighteous things

Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the house of Jacob, whom he separated from Abraham: Jacob shall not now be put to shame, neither shall Israel now change face.

But when they see their children, the works of my hands in their midst, they will sanctify my name, and they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and they will fear the God of Israel.

And those who wander in spirit will know understanding, and the murmurers will learn to obey, and the tongues that stammer will learn to speak peace.
