The vision of the four-footed animals in the wilderness, in affliction and in distress: lion and lion’s cub from there, and asps and offspring of flying asps, who were carrying their wealth on donkeys and camels to a nation that will not help them, but for shame and reproach
Therefore thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel: Because you disobeyed these words and hoped in falsehood, and because you grumbled and became confident in this word,
And its collapse shall be like the breaking of an earthen vessel, from a potsherd, so finely that one could not find among them a potsherd in which to lift fire or in which to draw off a little water.
Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel: when you turn back and groan, then you shall be saved, and you shall know where you were when you were trusting in the vain things; vain has become your strength, and you were not willing to hear.
But you said, On horses we will flee; therefore you will flee. And you said, On swift ones we will mount; therefore those who pursue you will be swift.
At the voice of one, a thousand will flee, and at the voice of five, many will flee, until you are left like a mast on a mountain and like a signal flag on a hill.
And again God will wait to have compassion on you, and therefore he will be exalted to show mercy to you, because the Lord our God is a judge; and where will you leave your glory? Blessed are those who remain in him.
For a holy people shall dwell in Zion and in Jerusalem; he wept with weeping, Have mercy on me; he will have mercy on you; at the sound of your cry, when he saw it, he heard you.
And the Lord will give you bread of affliction and water of distress, and your deceivers shall no longer at all draw near to you, for your eyes shall see your deceivers.
And your ears shall hear the words of those who led you astray behind you, saying, This is the way; let us go in it, whether to the right or whether to the left.
And you shall remove your silver-covered idols and your gold-plated things you shall make fine, and you shall scatter them like water of a woman sitting apart, and you shall throw them away like dung.
Then there shall be rain for the seed of your land, and the bread of the produce of your land shall be abundance and rich, and your cattle shall graze in that day in a fat and spacious place
And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold in the day when the Lord heals the fracture of his people and he shall heal the pain of your wound.
Behold, the name of the Lord comes after much time, burning with anger; his utterance is with glory, the utterance of his lips, an utterance full of wrath and the anger of wrath, like fire it will devour
And his spirit, like water in a ravine, shall come up to the neck and shall be divided to shake nations with a vain wandering, and wandering shall pursue them, and it shall take them before their face.
Must you not always rejoice and go into my holy places always, as if keeping festival and as if rejoicing, to enter with flute into the mountain of the Lord, to the God of Israel?
And God will make the glory of his voice heard, and he will show the wrath of his arm with fury and anger and with a devouring flame; he will thunder violently, and as water and hail descending forcibly.
And it shall be to him on every side, from where there was for him the hope of help on which he himself had trusted; they themselves with flutes and lyres shall fight against him in turn.
For you have been required before days, was it not also for you that a deep valley was prepared to rule, wood lying, fire and much wood; the wrath of the Lord is like a valley burning by sulfur
