Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who trust on horses and on chariots, for there are many, and on horses a very great multitude, and they did not trust in the Holy One of Israel, and God they did not seek
and he himself, being wise, brought evils upon them, and his word shall by no means be annulled, and he shall rise up against houses of wicked men and against their vain hope
The Egyptian is a man and not God, and their horses are flesh and not spirit; and the Lord will bring his hand upon them, and those helping will grow weary, and all together they will perish.
For thus the Lord said to me: As whenever the lion or the young lion roars over the prey that he has taken and cries out over it until the mountains are filled with his voice, and they are defeated and the multitude terrified, so the Lord of hosts will come down to make war against Mount Zion and against its mountains
And Asshur will fall, not by the sword of a man, nor will the sword of a man devour him; and he will flee not before the face of the sword, but his young men will be for defeat
For they shall be surrounded with a rock as with a ditch, and they shall be defeated; and the one fleeing shall be taken. Thus says the Lord: blessed is the one who has seed in Zion and household members in Jerusalem.
