The Koine Bible

Thus says the Lord: What is the certificate of divorce of your mother, by which I sent her away? Or to which creditor have I sold you? Behold, by your sins you were sold, and by your iniquities I sent away your mother.

Why is it that I came, and there was no man? I called, and there was no one obeying? Is my hand not strong to rescue, or am I not able to deliver? Behold, by my threat I will make the sea a wilderness, and I will make the rivers desolate, and their fish shall dry up, because there is no water, and they shall die in thirst.

and I will clothe the heaven with darkness and I will make its covering like sackcloth

The Lord gives me a tongue of instruction, to know in season when it is necessary to speak a word; he has set for me morning by morning, he has added for me an ear to hear.

And the instruction of the Lord opens my ears, and I do not disobey nor contradict.

I gave my back to whips, and my cheeks to blows, and I did not turn my face away from shame of spittings.

And the Lord became my helper; therefore I was not ashamed, but I set my face like a solid rock, and I knew that I would not be put to shame.

For he who justified me is near; who is the one who contends with me? Let him stand against me together. And who is the one who contends with me? Let him draw near to me.

Behold, the Lord helps me; who will do me harm? Behold, all of you will grow old like a garment, and a moth will devour you.

Who among you is the one fearing the Lord? Let him listen to the voice of his servant. Those walking in darkness, there is no light for them. Trust in the name of the Lord and lean on God.

Behold, all of you kindle a fire and strengthen a flame; go in the light of your fire and in the flame that you have kindled. Through me these things have come to you; in sorrow you shall sleep.
