Thus says the Lord: The heaven is my throne, and the earth the footstool of my feet. What house will you build for me, or what is the place of my rest?
For all these things my hand made, and all these things are mine, says the Lord. And upon whom shall I look, except upon the humble and quiet one and the one trembling at my words?
But the lawless one who sacrifices to me a calf is as one killing a dog; and the one who offers fine flour is as swine’s blood; the one who gives frankincense for a memorial is as a blasphemer. And these have chosen their own ways and their abominations which their soul desired.
And I will choose their mockeries, and their sins I will repay to them, because I called them and they did not obey me; I spoke and they did not hear, and they did the evil before me, and what I did not wish they chose.
Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word: say, our brothers, to those who hate us and detest us, so that the name of the Lord may be glorified and may be seen in their joy, and those also shall be put to shame.
Who has heard such a thing, and who has seen so? Has a land been in labor in one day, or even has a nation been born all at once, that Zion labored and bore her children?
For thus says the Lord: behold, I am inclining toward them like a river of peace and like overflowing torrents the glory of nations; their children shall be carried upon shoulders, and shall be comforted upon knees.
And you shall see, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall sprout like grass; and the hand of the Lord shall be known to those who fear him, and he will threaten those who disobey.
Those who purify and cleanse themselves for the gardens, and in the courtyards, eating swine’s flesh and the abominations and the mouse, shall be consumed together, says the Lord
And I will set signs among them and will send from them those who have been saved to the nations, to Tarshish and to Phud and to Lud and to Mosoch and to Thobel and to Greece and to the far islands, who have not heard my name nor have seen my glory, and they will proclaim my glory among the nations
And they shall bring your brothers from all the nations as a gift to the Lord, with horses and chariots and in litters of mules, with canopies, to the holy city, Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the sons of Israel would bring their sacrifices to me with psalms into the house of the Lord
And they shall go out and shall see the corpses of the men who have transgressed against me; for their worm shall not come to an end, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be for a sight to all flesh.
