Then the Lord said to me, Go and buy a molded earthenware flask, and you shall bring from the elders of the people and from the elders of the priests.

and you shall go out to the burial place of the sons of their children, which is at the threshold of the gate of the Charsith, and read there all the words which I shall speak to you

And you shall say to them: Hear the word of the Lord, kings of Judah and men of Judah and those who dwell in Jerusalem and those who enter in through these gates. Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing evils upon this place, so that of everyone hearing them both his ears will ring.

Because they forsook me and made this place alien, and made offerings in it to foreign gods, whom they neither knew, they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah, and they filled this place with innocent bloods.

and they built high places for Baal to burn their sons in fire, which I did not command, nor did I speak, nor did I think in my heart

Therefore, behold, days are coming, says the Lord, when this place shall no longer be called Fall-through and the burial place of the son of Hinnom, but the burial place of slaughter.

And I will slaughter the counsel of Judah and the counsel of Jerusalem in this place, and I will cast them down by the sword before their enemies and into the hands of those seeking their lives, and I will give their dead as food to the birds of the sky and to the beasts of the earth

And I will make this city into desolation and into hissing; everyone who passes by it will look gloomy and will hiss over all its plague.

And they shall eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and each one the flesh of his neighbor; they shall eat in the siege and in the distress with which their enemies shall besiege them.

And you shall break the jug in the sight of the men who are going out with you

And you shall say, Thus says the Lord: Thus I will break this people and this city, as a potter’s vessel is broken, which will not be able to be healed anymore.

Thus I will do, says the Lord, to this place and to those who dwell in it, so as to give this city as the falling down one.

And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be like the place that is falling apart, because of the uncleannesses, in all the houses in which they burned incense on their roofs to all the host of heaven and poured drink offerings to foreign gods.

And Jeremiah came from the ruin where the Lord had sent him there to prophesy, and he stood in the court of the house of the Lord and said to all the people

Thus says the Lord: behold, I am bringing upon this city and upon all its cities and upon its villages all the evils that I have spoken against it, because they stiffened their neck so as not to hear my words.
