Go to the house of Arhabin and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the courts, and you shall give them wine to drink
ἐξήγαγον τὸν Ιεζονιαν υἱὸν Ιερεμιν υἱοῦ Χαβασιν καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν οἰκίαν Αρχαβιν
and they brought out Jezonias son of Ieremin son of Chabasin, and his brothers, and his sons, and all the house of Archabin
εἰσήγαγον αὐτοὺς εἰς οἶκον κυρίου εἰς τὸ παστοφόριον υἱῶν Ανανιου υἱοῦ Γοδολιου ἀνθρώπου τοῦ θεοῦ ὅ ἐστιν ἐγγὺς τοῦ οἴκου τῶν ἀρχόντων τῶν ἐπάνω τοῦ οἴκου Μαασαιου υἱοῦ Σελωμ τοῦ φυλάσσοντος τὴν αὐλήν
And they brought them into the house of the Lord, into the chamber of the sons of Hananiah son of Gedaliah, the man of God, which is near the house of the princes, above the house of Maaseiah son of Shallum, who was keeping the court.
And I set before them a jar of wine and cups, and I said, Drink wine
εἶπαν οὐ μὴ πίωμεν οἶνον ὅτι Ιωναδαβ υἱὸς Ρηχαβ ὁ πατὴρ ἡμῶν ἐνετείλατο ἡμῖν λέγων οὐ μὴ πίητε οἶνον ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν ἕως αἰῶνος
And they said, We will not drink wine, for Jonadab son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, You shall not drink wine, you and your sons, forever.
οἰκίαν οὐ μὴ οἰκοδομήσητε καὶ σπέρμα οὐ μὴ σπείρητε καὶ ἀμπελὼν οὐκ ἔσται ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐν σκηναῖς οἰκήσετε πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ὑμῶν ὅπως ἂν ζήσητε ἡμέρας πολλὰς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐφ᾿ ἧς διατρίβετε ὑμεῖς ἐπ᾿ αὐτῆς
and a house you shall by no means build, and seed you shall by no means sow, and a vineyard shall not be for you, because in tents you shall dwell all your days, so that you may live many days upon the land on which you are staying, you upon it
ἠκούσαμεν τῆς φωνῆς Ιωναδαβ τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν πρὸς τὸ μὴ πιεῖν οἶνον πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἡμῶν ἡμεῖς καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες ἡμῶν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ ἡμῶν καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες ἡμῶν
And we listened to the voice of Jonadab our father, so as not to drink wine all our days, we and our wives and our sons and our daughters
and so as not to build houses to dwell there, and vineyard and field and seed did not come to us
And we dwelt in tents, and we listened, and we did according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
ἐγενήθη ὅτε ἀνέβη Ναβουχοδονοσορ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ εἴπαμεν εἰσέλθατε καὶ εἰσέλθωμεν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς δυνάμεως τῶν Χαλδαίων καὶ ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς δυνάμεως τῶν Ἀσσυρίων καὶ ᾠκοῦμεν ἐκεῖ
And it happened when Nabuchodonosor went up against the land, that we said, Enter, and let us enter into Jerusalem from before the force of the Chaldeans and from before the force of the Assyrians, and we lived there.
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying
λέγει κύριος πορεύου καὶ εἰπὸν ἀνθρώπῳ Ιουδα καὶ τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν Ιερουσαλημ οὐ μὴ λάβητε παιδείαν τοῦ ἀκούειν τοὺς λόγους μου
Thus says the Lord: Go and say to the man of Judah and to those dwelling in Jerusalem, you shall surely not receive instruction to hear my words.
ῥῆμα υἱοὶ Ιωναδαβ υἱοῦ Ρηχαβ ὃ ἐνετείλατο τοῖς τέκνοις αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὸ μὴ πιεῖν οἶνον καὶ οὐκ ἐπίοσαν καὶ ἐγὼ ἐλάλησα πρὸς ὑμᾶς ὄρθρου καὶ ἐλάλησα καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσατε
The sons of Jonadab son of Rechab established a word that he commanded his children not to drink wine, and they did not drink; and I spoke to you early and I spoke, and you did not listen.
ἀπέστειλα πρὸς ὑμᾶς τοὺς παῖδάς μου τοὺς προφήτας λέγων ἀποστράφητε ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ τῆς πονηρᾶς καὶ βελτίω ποιήσατε τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα ὑμῶν καὶ οὐ πορεύσεσθε ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων τοῦ δουλεύειν αὐτοῖς καὶ οἰκήσετε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἧς ἔδωκα ὑμῖν καὶ τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἐκλίνατε τὰ ὦτα ὑμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσατε
And I sent to you my servants the prophets, saying, Turn back each one from his evil way, and make your practices better, and you shall not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell on the land which I gave to you and to your fathers; and you did not incline your ears, and you did not hear.
And the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab established the commandment of their father, but this people did not listen to me.
τοῦτο οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ φέρω ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Ιερουσαλημ πάντα τὰ κακά ἃ ἐλάλησα ἐπ᾿ αὐτούς
Therefore thus said the Lord: Behold, I am bringing upon Judah and upon those dwelling in Jerusalem all the evils that I spoke against them.
τοῦτο οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἐπειδὴ ἤκουσαν υἱοὶ Ιωναδαβ υἱοῦ Ρηχαβ τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν ποιεῖν καθότι ἐνετείλατο αὐτοῖς ὁ πατὴρ αὐτῶν
Therefore thus said the Lord: because the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab listened to the commandment of their father to do just as their father commanded them
A man of the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab shall by no means fail, standing before my face all the days of the earth.
