The Koine Bible

Then Sophar the Minaean answered and says

Shall one who speaks many things also be answered, or does one who is fluent think himself to be righteous? Blessed be the one born of woman, short-lived.

Do not be too many in words, for there is no one answering you.

For do not say that I am pure in deeds and blameless before him

But how might the Lord speak to you and open his lips with you?

Then he will declare to you the power of wisdom, that it is double to the things against you, and then you will know that from the Lord the things by which you have sinned have turned out worthy for you

Can you find the track of the Lord, or come to the ends of what the Almighty has made?

High is heaven, and what will you do? But deeper than the things in Hades, what do you know?

Or longer than the measure of the earth, or wider than the sea

But if he overturns all things, who will say to him, What have you done?

For he himself knows the works of lawless men, and when he has seen outrageous things, he will not overlook them.

But a man is otherwise empty talk, and a mortal born of a woman is like a desert donkey

For if you have set your heart pure, and you stretch out your hands toward him,

If there is any lawless thing in your hands, put it far away from you, and let injustice not lodge in your dwelling.

For thus your face will shine up, like pure water; and you will strip off filth, and you will certainly not fear.

and you will forget the toil like a wave that has passed by, and you will not be terrified

And your prayer will rise like the morning star, but from midday life will arise for you.

and you will be confident because there is hope for you, and out of care and concern peace will appear to you

For you will lie down, and there will be none to make war against you; and many will plead with you.

But salvation will leave them, for their hope is destruction; and the eyes of the ungodly shall melt away.
