The Koine Bible

Behold, my eye has seen all these things, and my ear has heard them.

And I know as many things as you also know, and I am not less understanding than you.

But I, indeed, will speak to the Lord; and I will argue before him, if he should will it.

But you are all unjust physicians and healers of evils.

Oh that you would be altogether silent, and it would turn out for you to be wisdom.

Hear the reproof of my mouth, and pay attention to the judgment of my lips.

Will you not speak before the Lord, and utter deceit before him?

Will you show partiality for him? Or will you yourselves be judges?

Is it indeed good if he should search you out, for if while doing all things you will be added to him?

Surely he will rebuke you, if indeed you admire persons secretly.

Will not his dread things whirl you around, and fear from him will fall upon you?

And your boasting will turn out like ashes, and the body clay-like

Be silent, that I may speak, and let me rest from anger.

Why do I take up my flesh in my teeth and put my life in my hand?

Though the ruler should lay his hand upon me, yet I will speak and prove my cause before him

and this will turn out for me for salvation, for no deceit will enter before him

Hear, hear my words, for I will declare while you are listening.

Behold, I am near to my judgment; I know that I shall appear righteous.

For who is he that will contend with me, that now I should be silent and perish?

Only two things do not do to me, then; from your face I shall not hide myself.

Withdraw your hand from me, and let not your terror frighten me.

Then you shall call, and I will obey you; or you shall speak, and I will give you an answer

How many are my sins and my iniquities? Teach me what they are.

Why do you hide yourself from me, and consider me your adversary?

Will you terrify a leaf being moved by wind, or oppose me as grass being carried by a spirit?

For you have written bitter things against me, and you put upon me the sins of my youth.

You set my foot in a hindrance; you watched all my works, and you came to the roots of my feet.

which wastes away like a wineskin or like a moth-eaten garment
