I entreat, being weary, and what having done?
But strangers have stolen my possessions; who is this? Let him be joined to my hand.
For you have hidden their heart from understanding; therefore you will by no means exalt them.
He will proclaim evil to his portion; but my eyes have wasted away over sons.
But you have made me a byword among the nations, and I have become a laughingstock to them.
For my eyes are become dim from anger; I am greatly besieged by all.
The righteous will be astonished at this, and the innocent will rise up against the lawless.
Yet the faithful may hold to his own way, and the clean in hands may take up courage.
But indeed all of you, do hold yourselves firm, and come now, for I do not find truth among you
My days have passed in a stink, and the joints of my heart have burst.
They have made night into day; light is near from before darkness.
For if I wait, Hades is my house; and in darkness my bed is spread out.
I have called death to be my father, and rottenness my mother and sister.
Where then is my hope still, or shall I see my good things?
Will they go down with me into Hades? Or shall we go down together to the dust?
