Can a man not teach understanding and knowledge?
For what is it to the Lord if you were blameless in your works, or what benefit if you make your way straight?
Is it because of your speech that he will reprove you and will enter with you into judgment?
Is not your wickedness great, and your sins innumerable?
For you were taking your brothers as security for nothing, and you stripped off the clothing of the naked.
You gave no water to the thirsty, but you deprived the hungry of a morsel of bread.
But you admired the face of some, and you settled the ones on the earth
And widows you sent away empty, and orphans you afflicted.
Therefore snares have encircled you, and dreadful war has hastened upon you.
Light has become darkness for you; and, as for you lying down, water has covered you.
Is not he who dwells in the heights looking down, and he has humbled those who are borne along by insolence?
And you have said, What has the Mighty One known? Or will he judge through the thick darkness?
His clouds are a hiding place, and he will not be seen, and he walks about the circle of heaven.
Will you keep the ancient path which unjust men have trodden?
who were seized before their time, a river flowing over, their foundations
those who say, The Lord, what will he do to us? or what will the Almighty bring upon us?
who filled their houses with good things, but the counsel of the ungodly is far from him
The righteous saw it and laughed; and the blameless mocked him.
If not their substance has been destroyed, and their remnant fire will consume.
Now then, be hardened, if you endure; then your fruit will be in good things.
Receive then instruction from his mouth, and take up his words in your heart.
If then you turn back and humble yourself before the Lord, you have put injustice far away from your dwelling.
You will lay it on the dust in the rock and as the rock of Ophir of torrents
So then the Almighty will be your helper from enemies, and he will give you back pure, like refined silver.
Then you will be bold before the Lord, having looked up to heaven cheerfully
When you pray to him, he will listen to you, and he will give you to pay your vows.
And he will restore for you a way of righteousness, and on your paths there will be light.
For he has humbled him, and you will say, He has been exalted, and he will save the one bent down in eyes
He will rescue the innocent man, and you will be saved by your clean hands.
