And why have times escaped the Lord?

The ungodly have crossed the boundary; they have seized a flock together with the shepherd.

They have led away the donkey of orphans, and they have taken the widow’s ox as pledge.

They turned the weak out of the way of righteousness; the meek of the earth hid themselves together.

And they went away like donkeys in a field, having gone out over against me; their own work was sweet to him; bread for the younger ones.

They reaped a field not theirs before the time, and the powerless worked the vineyards of the ungodly without pay and without food.

They made many naked ones lie down without clothing, and they took away the covering of their soul.

From the drops of the mountains they are made wet, because they have no covering; they have wrapped themselves with a rock.

They snatched the orphan from the breast, and having fallen they humbled him.

And they made the naked lie down unjustly, and they took away the bread of the hungry.

In narrow places they lay in wait unjustly; but they did not know a righteous way.

They were driven out from the city and from their own houses, and the life of the little ones groaned greatly, and he, why has he not made an investigation of these things?

While they were on the earth, they did not know; and the way of righteousness they did not know, nor did they walk in its paths.

But knowing their works, he delivered them over to darkness, and by night he will be as a thief

And the eye of an adulterer has watched for darkness, saying, No eye will notice me, and he has set a hiding of face.

He dug through in the dark houses; they sealed themselves up by day; they did not know the light.

For together, morning is to them the shadow of death, for he knows the terrors of the shadow of death

He is light on the face of water; may their portion be cursed upon the earth

May their plants appear upon dry ground, for they have seized the embrace of orphans.

Then his sin was remembered, and like a mist of dew it became invisible; and let what he did be repaid to him, and let every unjust man be broken as an incurable tree

For he did not do well to the barren woman, and he had no mercy on the widow

But with wrath he overthrew the powerless, rising up, therefore he will by no means trust in his own life

Having become feeble, let him not hope to be healed, but he will fall by sickness

For he oppressed many; and he withered like a mallow in heat, or like an ear of grain falling off of itself from the stalk.

But if not, who is there that will prove me a liar and make my words to nothing?
