And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying

Take the headcount of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their clans, by the houses of their paternal families.

from twenty and five years and upward and until fifty years, everyone entering to minister, to do all the works in the tent of the testimony

And these are the duties of the sons of Kohath in the tent of testimony, the holy of holies.

And Aaron and his sons shall enter when the camp is setting out, and they shall take down the veil that shades, and they shall cover with it the ark of the testimony

And they shall put upon it a covering of blue leather, and they shall throw over it entirely a blue garment above, and they shall insert the carrying poles

And they shall put on the table that is set forth a purple cloth on it, and the plates and the pans and the cups and the libation bowls with which he pours out, and the continual bread shall be on it.

And they shall put upon it a scarlet cloth, and they shall cover it with a blue leather covering, and they shall insert the carrying poles through it.

And they shall take a blue cloth and cover the lampstand, the one giving light, and its lamps and its tongs and its snuffdishes and all the vessels of the oil with which they minister by them

And they shall put it and all its utensils into a covering of blue leather, and they shall put it on carrying bars.

And on the golden altar they shall overlay a blue cloth, and they shall cover it with a blue leather covering, and they shall insert its poles

And they shall take all the ministering vessels with which they minister in the holy things, and they shall put them in a blue cloth, and shall cover them with a blue leather covering, and shall put them on carrying bars.

And he shall put the covering over the altar, and they shall spread over it a cloth of purple entirely

And they shall place on it all the vessels with which they minister on it, the fire pans and the flesh hooks and the bowls and the cover and all the vessels of the altar, and they shall put over it a blue leather covering and insert its poles, and they shall take a purple cloth and cover the laver and its base and put them in a blue leather covering, and they shall place them on poles

And Aaron and his sons shall finish covering the holy things and all the holy vessels when the camp is setting out, and after these things the sons of Kohath shall enter to carry them, and they shall not touch the holy things, lest they die; the sons of Kohath shall carry these things in the tent of testimony.

Eleazar son of Aaron the priest shall have oversight of the oil for the light and the incense of the mixture and the daily offering and the oil of anointing, the oversight of the whole tabernacle and whatever is in it in the holy place, in all the works.

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying

Do not destroy the people of the clan of Kohath from among the Levites.

Do this for them, and they shall live and shall not die when they approach the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and shall appoint them, each according to his carrying.

and they shall not enter to see the holy things suddenly, and they shall die

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying

Take the sum of the sons of Gedson, also these according to the houses of their fathers, according to their clans.

From twenty-five years old and upward until fifty years old, inspect them, every one entering in to minister and to do his work in the tent of the testimony

This is the service of the clan of Gershon, to serve and to carry.

And he shall take up the hides of the tent and the tent of the testimony and its covering and the blue covering that is upon it above, and the covering of the door of the tent of the testimony

and the curtains of the court, as many as are on the tent of the testimony, and the excess, and all the service vessels, as many as they minister with in them, they shall do

At the mouth of Aaron and of his sons shall be the service of the sons of Gedson, according to all their services and according to all the things carried through them, and you shall oversee them by name, all the things carried by them.

This is the service of the sons of Gerson in the tent of testimony, and their charge under the hand of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.

The sons of Merari, by their peoples, by the houses of their fathers, you shall number them.

From twenty-five years old and upward until fifty years old, you shall muster them, everyone entering in to minister the works of the tent of the testimony.

And these are the charges of the things carried by them, according to all their work in the tent of witness: the frames of the tent, and its bars, and its pillars, and its bases, and the covering, and their bases, and their pillars, and the covering of the door of the tent.

and the pillars of the court all around, and their bases, and the pillars of the screen of the gate of the court, and their bases, and their pegs, and their stakes, and all their utensils, and all their services, by names you shall count them, and all the utensils of the charge of those carried by them

This is the service of the clan of the sons of Merari in all their works in the tent of the testimony, under the hand of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.

And Moses and Aaron and the leaders of Israel numbered the sons of Kohath by their clans, by the houses of their fathers.

From twenty-five years old and upward to fifty years old, everyone entering in to serve and to do in the tent of the testimony

And their numbering by their clans was two thousand two hundred fifty

This is the enrollment of the clan of Kohath, all who minister in the tent of the testimony, as Moses and Aaron enrolled them by the command of the Lord through Moses.

And the sons of Gerson were numbered according to their clans, according to the houses of their fathers.

from twenty-five years old and upward, until fifty years old, every one who enters in to minister and to do the works in the tent of the testimony

And their enrollment according to their clans, according to the houses of their fathers, was two thousand six hundred thirty.

This is the muster of the clan of the sons of Gerson, all who minister in the tent of the testimony, whom Moses and Aaron mustered by the command of the Lord through Moses.

And the people of the sons of Merari were enrolled also, by their peoples, by their houses, by the houses of their fathers.

from twenty-five years old and upward to fifty years old, everyone entering to serve in the works of the tent of the testimony

And the numbering of them was according to their communities, according to the houses of their ancestral families: three thousand and two hundred.

This is the numbering of the people of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses

All those who were mustered, whom Moses and Aaron and the leaders of Israel mustered, the Levites according to their clans, according to the houses of their fathers.

from twenty-five years old and upward until fifty years old, everyone entering for the work of the works and the duties carried in the tent of witness

And those who were counted were eight thousand five hundred eighty.

By the command of the Lord, he registered them by the hand of Moses, man by man, according to their works and according to what they themselves carry, and they were registered, as the Lord commanded Moses.
