And the people were murmuring evil things before the Lord, and the Lord heard, and he was angered with anger, and fire was kindled among them from the Lord and devoured some part of the camp

And the people cried out to Moses, and Moses prayed to the Lord, and the fire ceased.

And the name of that place was called Burning, because fire was kindled among them from the Lord

And the mixed multitude that was among them desired a desire, and sitting down they were weeping, and the sons of Israel also, and they said, Who will feed us with meat?

We remembered the fish that we were eating in Egypt freely, and the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic.

But now our soul is dried up; nothing except our eyes are on the manna

Now the manna is like coriander seed, and its appearance is like the appearance of crystal.

And the people went about and gathered it and ground it in the mill and crushed it in the mortar and boiled it in the pot and made it cakes, and its taste was like the taste of a cake made with oil

And when the dew came down on the camp by night, the manna came down upon it

And Moses heard them weeping by their clans, each at the door of his tent; and the Lord was very angry in wrath, and in the sight of Moses it was evil.

And Moses said to the Lord, Why have you afflicted your servant, and why have I not found favor before you, to lay the burden of this people upon me?

Did I conceive all this people in the womb, or did I bear them, that you say to me, Take him in your bosom, as a nurse would carry the sucking child, into the land which you swore to their fathers?

From where am I to give meat to all this people, because they weep against me, saying, Give us meat, that we may eat?

I alone am not able to bear this people, because this matter is too heavy for me.

But if you are doing thus to me, kill me utterly, if I have found favor before you, so that I may not see my affliction.

And the Lord said to Moses: Gather for me seventy men from the elders of Israel, whom you yourself know that these are the elders of the people and their scribes, and you shall bring them to the tent of witness, and they shall stand there with you

And I will come down and speak there with you, and I will take from the spirit that is upon you and will put upon them, and they shall bear with you the burden of the people, and you shall not bear them alone.

And you shall say to the people, Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat, because you have wept before the Lord, saying, Who will feed us with meat? for it was good for us in Egypt. And the Lord will give you meat to eat, and you shall eat meat.

Not one day shall you eat, nor two, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days.

For a month of days you shall eat, until it comes out from your nostrils, and it shall become for you into cholera, because you disobeyed the Lord who is among you and you wept before him, saying, Why is it for us to come out of Egypt?

And Moses said, The people among whom I am are six hundred thousand footmen, and you said, I will give them meat to eat, and they shall eat for a month of days.

Shall sheep and cattle be slaughtered for them, and will it be enough for them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered for them, and will it be enough for them?

And the Lord said to Moses, Is the hand of the Lord not sufficient? Now you shall know whether my word will overtake you or not.

And Moses went out and spoke to the people the words of the Lord, and he gathered seventy men from the elders of the people and stationed them around the tent of meeting

And the Lord came down in a cloud and spoke to him and took from the spirit that was upon him and put it upon the seventy men, the elders; and when the spirit had rested upon them, they prophesied and no longer did they continue.

And two men were left in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad and the name of the second was Medad, and the spirit rested upon them, and these were among the enrolled, and they had not come to the tent, and they prophesied in the camp.

And the young man ran and reported to Moses and said, saying, Eldad and Modad are prophesying in the camp.

And Joshua son of Nun, the one who stood by Moses, the chosen one, answered and said, Lord Moses, stop them.

And Moses said to him, Are you jealous for me? And who would give all the people of the Lord to be prophets, when the Lord gives his Spirit upon them?

And Moses departed into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

And a wind went out from the Lord and drove up quail from the sea, and it cast them upon the camp, a day’s journey from this side and a day’s journey from that side all around the camp, about two cubits from the ground.

And the people rose up all that day and all that night and all that day of the next day, and they gathered the quail; he who gathered little gathered ten cors, and they spread them out for themselves around the camp.

The meat was still between their teeth, before it had failed, and the Lord was angry with the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very great plague.

And the name of that place was called Graves of Desires, because there they buried the people who desired.

From the graves of desire the people departed to Aseroth, and the people came to be in Aseroth.
