For I give you a good gift, do not forsake my law
For I too became a son obedient to a father and loved in the sight of a mother
who were saying and teaching me, Let our word be established in your heart
Keep my commandments, do not forget, nor overlook a saying of my mouth.
Do not abandon her, and she will hold fast to you; love her, and she will keep you.
Encircle her and she will exalt you; honor her, so that she may embrace you.
so that he may give to your head a crown of graces; but with a crown of delight he may shield you
Hear, my son, and receive my words, and the years of your life will be multiplied, so that there may become for you many ways of life
For I teach you ways of wisdom; and I lead you in straight tracks.
For if you go, your steps will not be hemmed in; but if you run, you will not grow weary.
Take hold of my instruction; do not let go, but keep her for yourself for your life.
Do not enter the paths of the ungodly, nor envy the paths of lawless men.
In whatever place they may camp, do not go there; turn away from them and pass by.
For they do not sleep unless they do evil; their sleep has been taken away, and they do not rest.
For these eat the bread of ungodliness, but with lawless wine they are made drunk.
But the ways of the righteous shine like light; they go on before and give light until the day shall be set straight
But the ways of the ungodly are dark; they do not know how they stumble.
My son, give attention to my saying, and apply your ear to my words.
Keep them in your heart, so that your springs may not fail you.
For they are life to those who find them and healing to all flesh
With all guarding, keep your heart, for from these are the outgoings of life.
Put away from yourself a crooked mouth and unjust lips; push them far from you.
Let your eyes look straight ahead, and let your eyelids direct what is right.
Make straight paths for your feet, and direct your ways.
Do not turn aside to the right nor to the left; but turn your foot away from an evil way.
