Wealth adds many friends, but the poor is abandoned even by the friend he has.
A false witness shall not go unpunished, and he who accuses unjustly shall not escape.
Many seek the favor of rulers, but every bad man becomes a reproach to a man
ὃς ἀδελφὸν πτωχὸν μισεῖ καὶ φιλίας μακρὰν ἔσται ἔννοια ἀγαθὴ τοῖς εἰδόσιν αὐτὴν ἐγγιεῖ ἀνὴρ δὲ φρόνιμος εὑρήσει αὐτήν ὁ πολλὰ κακοποιῶν τελεσιουργεῖ κακίαν ὃς δὲ ἐρεθίζει λόγους οὐ σωθήσεται
Everyone who hates a poor brother also will be far from friendships. Good understanding will draw near to those who know it, but a prudent man will find it. He who does much evil perfects evil, but he who stirs up words will not be saved.
He who acquires prudence loves himself, but he who guards prudence will find good things.
A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever kindles evil will perish by it.
Luxury is not fitting for a fool, and even if a servant begins to rule with insolence.
A man of mercy is long-suffering, but his boast comes upon lawbreakers.
A king’s threat is like the roaring of a lion, but like dew on grass, so is his favor.
A foolish son is a disgrace to a father, and vows from the hire of a prostitute are not pure.
House and substance fathers divide to sons, but a wife is fitted to a man by God.
Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and the soul of the idle man shall suffer hunger.
