1 Why do you sit, profane one, in the council of the holy, and your heart has stood far away from the Lord, provoking the God of Israel by lawless deeds?
2 Abundant in words, abundant in showing, above all, the harsh in words to condemn sinners in judgment
3 and his hand was upon him first as in jealousy, and he himself guilty in varieties of sins and in lack of self-control
4 His eyes are on every woman indiscriminately; his tongue is false in business dealings with an oath
5 By night and in secret places he sins, as though not seen; with his eyes he speaks to every woman, in a contriving of evil, swift in entering into every house, with cheerfulness as though innocent
6 May God remove those who live in hypocrisy among the holy ones; in the corruption of his flesh and in poverty his life
7 May God uncover the deeds of men who please men, with derision and sneering his deeds
8 and let the holy ones justify the judgment of their God, in the taking away of sinners from before a righteous man, one pleasing men, speaking law with deceit
9 And their eyes are upon the house of a man in prosperity, like a serpent, to dissolve the wisdom of one another in the words of lawless men.
10 His words were deceits for the doing of unrighteous desire; he did not cease until he prevailed to scatter like in orphanhood.
11 And he laid waste a house because of unlawful desire; he deceived with words, saying that there is no one seeing and judging.
12 He was filled with lawlessness in this, and his eyes were upon another house to destroy with words of exaltation
13 His soul is not satisfied as Hades in all these things
14 May his portion be in dishonor before you, his going out in groanings, and his coming in in a curse
15 In pains and in poverty and in helplessness is his life, Lord; his sleep is in sorrows and his waking is in helplessness.
16 May sleep be removed from his temples; by night may he fall away from every work of his hands in dishonor.
17 Let him enter into his house empty-handed, and let his house be lacking of everything with which he would fill his soul.
18 In solitude of childlessness his old age for taking up
19 May the flesh of men-pleasers be scattered by beasts, and the bones of lawless men be dishonored before the sun.
20 May ravens pluck out the eyes of the hypocrites, because they laid waste many houses of men in disgrace and scattered in desire.
21 And they did not remember God, and they did not fear God in all these things, and they provoked God to anger and they aroused him to anger
22 Take them away from the earth, because they deceived innocent souls by deceitfulness.
23 Blessed are those who fear the Lord in their innocence; the Lord will deliver them from deceitful and sinful men, and he will deliver us from every lawless snare.
24 May God remove those who do every injustice in arrogance, because the Lord our God is a great and mighty judge in righteousness.
25 May your mercy be, Lord, upon all who love you
