For the end, to the servant of the Lord, to David, the words of this song that he spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul

And he said, I will love you, O Lord, my strength

The Lord is my strength and my refuge and my rescuer, my God, my helper, and I will hope in him, my defender and horn of my salvation, my protector

Praising, I will call on the Lord, and from my enemies I will be saved

Pangs of death surrounded me, and torrents of lawlessness troubled me.

The pangs of Hades surrounded me; the snares of death overtook me.

And in my being afflicted I called upon the Lord, and toward my God I cried out; he heard from his holy temple my voice, and my cry before him will enter into his ears.

And the earth was shaken and became trembling, and the foundations of the mountains were troubled and were shaken, because God was angry with them

Smoke went up in his anger, and fire from his face burned; coals were kindled from him.

And he bowed the heavens and came down, and darkness under his feet.

And he mounted on cherubim and he was spread out, he was spread out upon the wings of winds

And he made darkness his hiding place around him, his tent, dark water in clouds of the air.

From the brightness before him the clouds passed through, hail and coals of fire.

And the Lord thundered from heaven, and the Most High gave his voice.

And he sent out arrows and scattered them, and he multiplied lightnings and confused them.

And the springs of the waters appeared, and the foundations of the inhabited world were uncovered, at your rebuke, O Lord, at the breath of the spirit of your wrath.

He sent out from on high and took me; he received me out of many waters

He will deliver me from my strong enemies and from those who hate me, because they were made strong over me

They confronted me in the day of my affliction, and the Lord became my support

And he led me out into broad place; he will deliver me, because he willed me; he will deliver me from my mighty enemies and from those who hate me

And the Lord will repay me according to my righteousness and according to the cleanness of my hands he will repay me

For I kept the ways of the Lord, and I did not act ungodly away from my God.

For all his judgments were before me, and I did not remove his ordinances from me.

And I shall be blameless with him, and I shall keep myself from my lawlessness.

And the Lord will repay me according to my righteousness and according to the cleanness of my hands before his eyes

With a holy man you will be holy, and with an innocent man you will be innocent.

and with the chosen one you will be chosen, and with the crooked one you will act crookedly

For you will save a humble people, and you will humble the eyes of the proud.

For you will light my lamp, O Lord my God; you will light up my darkness.

For in you I shall be rescued from a trial, and in my God I shall leap over a wall

My God, his way is blameless; the words of the Lord are purified; he is a protector of all who hope in him.

For who is God except the Lord, and who is God except our God

The God who girds me with strength and set my way blameless

the one who makes my feet ready like a deer’s and sets me upon the high places

training my hands for war, and you set my arms a bronze bow

And you gave me the shield of my salvation, and your right hand helped me, and your discipline restored me completely, and your discipline itself will teach me.

You made my steps wide under me, and my footprints did not weaken.

I will pursue my enemies and I will overtake them, and I will not turn back until they fail.

I will crush them, and they shall certainly not be able to stand; they shall fall under my feet.

And you girded me with power for war; you tripped up all those rising up against me under me

And you gave my enemies to me as the back, and you destroyed those who hate me

They cried out, and there was none to save; to the Lord, and he did not hear them.

And I will crush them as dust before the face of the wind; as mud of the streets I will trample them.

You will deliver me from the disputes of the people; you will set me as head of nations; a people whom I did not know served me

At the hearing of the ear they obeyed me; sons of strangers lied to me

Foreign sons grew old and limped away from their paths

The Lord lives, and blessed be my God, and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

the God who gives avengings to me and subdues peoples under me

my deliverer from my angry enemies, from those rising up against me, you will lift me up; from an unjust man you will rescue me

Therefore I will give thanks to you among the nations, O Lord, and to your name I will sing psalms

magnifying the salvations of his king and doing mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed forever
