Hear these things, all the nations; give ear, all you who dwell in the inhabited world.
both earthborn and the sons of men, together, rich and poor
My mouth will speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart understanding.
I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will open my riddle with a harp.
Why should I fear in an evil day? The lawlessness of my heel will surround me.
those who trust in their power and boast in the abundance of their wealth
A brother does not redeem; a man will not give his ransom to God, his atonement.
and the price of the ransom of his soul
and he ceased for ever and he will live to the end, for he will not see corruption when he sees wise men dying
Together the foolish and the senseless shall perish, and they shall leave their wealth to strangers.
And their tombs are their houses forever, their dwelling places for generation and generation; they called their names upon their lands.
But man, being in honor, did not understand; he was compared with the senseless beasts and became like them.
This is their way, a stumbling block to them, and after these things in their mouth they will be well pleased. Selah
Like sheep they were laid in Hades; death will shepherd them, and the upright will have dominion over them in the morning, and their help will be worn out in Hades from their glory
But God will redeem my soul from the hand of Hades, when he receives me. Selah
Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich and when the glory of his house increases.
For in his dying he will not receive all things, nor will his glory go down together with him
For his soul will be blessed in his life; he will give thanks to you when you do good to him.
He will go in to the generation of his fathers; he will not see light forever.
Man, while in honor, did not understand; he was likened to the senseless beasts and became like them.
