Do not grieve a hungry soul, and do not provoke to anger a man in his destitution.
Do not agitate an embittered heart, and do not draw out a gift of one in need.
Do not reject a suppliant who is afflicted, and do not turn your face away from a poor man.
From one who begs do not turn away your eye, and do not give a place to a man to curse you.
For if he curses you in the bitterness of his soul, his supplication will be heard by the one who made him.
Make yourself beloved to the assembly, and bow your head to the great man.
Incline your ear to the poor, and answer him peaceably in gentleness.
Rescue one being wronged from the hand of the one doing wrong, and do not be fainthearted in judging you.
ὀρφανοῖς ὡς πατὴρ καὶ ἀντὶ ἀνδρὸς τῇ μητρὶ αὐτῶν καὶ ἔσῃ ὡς υἱὸς ὑψίστου καὶ ἀγαπήσει σε μᾶλλον ἢ μήτηρ σου
Be as a father to orphans, and in place of a husband to their mother, and you will be as a son of the Most High, and he will love you more than your mother does.
Wisdom exalts her sons and takes hold of those who seek her
He who loves her loves life, and those who rise early toward her will be filled with gladness
Whoever holds fast to her will inherit glory, and wherever he enters, the Lord blesses.
Those who serve her will minister in holiness, and the Lord loves those who love her.
Whoever obeys her will judge nations, and whoever gives heed to her will dwell securely, having confidence
If he entrusts her, he will inherit her, and his generations will be in possession.
διεστραμμένως πορεύσεται μετ᾿ αὐτοῦ ἐν πρώτοις φόβον καὶ δειλίαν ἐπάξει ἐπ᾿ αὐτὸν καὶ βασανίσει αὐτὸν ἐν παιδείᾳ αὐτῆς ἕως οὗ ἐμπιστεύσῃ τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτοῦ καὶ πειράσει αὐτὸν ἐν τοῖς δικαιώμασιν αὐτῆς
For she will walk with him crookedly at first, and bring fear and cowardice upon him, and will torment him with her discipline until she trust his soul, and she will test him with her ordinances
and again she will return straight toward him and cheer him and reveal to him her hidden things
If he is led astray, she will abandon him and hand him over into the hands of his fall.
Keep time and guard yourself from evil, and concerning your soul do not be ashamed.
For there is a shame bringing sin, and there is a shame glory and grace
Do not receive a face against your soul, and do not be ashamed for your fall.
Do not withhold a word in time of need.
For by speech wisdom and discipline will be known, and by a word of the tongue.
Do not speak against the truth, and be ashamed concerning your lack of instruction.
Do not be ashamed to confess over your sins, and do not force the flow of a river.
and do not abase yourself to a foolish man, and do not receive the face of a ruler
Strive for the truth even to death, and the Lord God will fight for you.
Do not be rash in your tongue and slack and relaxed in your works.
Do not be as a lion in your house and acting haughty among your household servants
Let not your hand be stretched out to take, and in giving back contracted.
