The Koine Bible

Wisdom will praise her own soul, and in the midst of her people she will boast.

In the assembly of the Most High she will open her mouth, and before his power she will boast.

I came forth from the mouth of the Most High, and like mist I covered the earth

I dwelt in the high places, and my throne was in a pillar of cloud

I alone encircled the circuit of heaven, and I walked in the depth of abysses.

In the waves of the sea and in all the earth and in every people and nation I acquired me

With all these things I sought rest, and in whose inheritance shall I lodge?

Then the Creator of all gave me command, and he who created me caused my tent to rest, and said, Dwell in Jacob, and be inherited in Israel.

Before the age, from the beginning, he created me, and until the age I shall by no means fail.

In the holy tent I ministered before him, and thus I was established in Zion

In a beloved city he likewise made me rest, and in Jerusalem was my authority

And I took root in a glorified people, in the portion of the Lord, his inheritance.

As a cedar I was lifted up in Lebanon and as a cypress on the mountains of Hermon

Like a palm tree I was raised up in Engaddi, and like shoots of a rose in Jericho, like a beautiful olive tree in a plain, and I was raised up like a plane tree

As cinnamon and as calamus of spices I have given a smell, and as chosen myrrh I have spread abroad a fragrance, as galbanum and onyx and stacte, and as a vapor of frankincense in a tent

I, like a terebinth, stretched out my branches, and my branches are branches of glory and grace

I, like a vine, put forth grace, and my blossoms are fruit of glory and riches.

Come to me, you who desire me, and be filled from my products.

For my remembrance is sweeter than honey, and my inheritance than a honeycomb of honey

Those who eat me will still hunger, and those who drink me will still thirst.

The one obeying me will not be put to shame, and those working in me will not sin

All these things are the book of the covenant of God Most High, the law that Moses commanded us, an inheritance for the assemblies of Jacob

The one filling with wisdom as Pishon and as Tigris in the days of newness

the one who fills up understanding like Euphrates and like Jordan in days of harvest

The one showing forth instruction like light, like Gihon in days of vintage

The first did not finish knowing her, and so the last did not trace her out.

For from the sea was her thought multiplied, and her counsel from a great abyss

And I came out like a canal from a river and like an aqueduct into a garden

I said, I will water my garden, and I will make my bed drunk with drink; and behold, my channel became into a river, and my river became into a sea.

Still I will shine forth instruction like dawn, and I will make them visible far off even to the long distance

I will still pour out teaching as prophecy, and I will leave it for generations of ages

See that I have not labored for myself alone, but for all those who seek her
