Only the one who applies his soul and meditates on the law of the Most High will seek out the wisdom of all the ancients and will be occupied with prophecies

He will preserve the account of famous men and will enter in among the turns of parables.

He will seek out the hidden things of proverbs, and he will be occupied with riddles of parables.

In the midst of great men he will serve, and before rulers he will appear; in a land of foreign nations he will travel, for he has tested good and evil among men.

He will give his heart to rise early toward the Lord who made him, and before the Most High he will make supplication, and he will open his mouth in prayer, and concerning his sins he will make supplication

If the great Lord should will it, he will be filled with a spirit of understanding; he will shower forth words of his wisdom, and in prayer he will make confession to the Lord.

He himself will direct his counsel and knowledge, and in his hidden things he will ponder.

He himself will make known the instruction of his teaching, and in the law of the covenant of the Lord he will boast.

Many will praise his understanding, and until forever it will not be blotted out; his memorial will not depart, and his name will live to generations of generations.

The nations will declare his wisdom, and the assembly will proclaim his praise.

If he remains, he will leave a name, or a thousand; and if he rests, he causes it to be sold for him

I will think further; I will also recount, and I was filled as with a division.

Hear me, holy sons, and blossom as a rose growing by a moist stream.

and like frankincense give a sweet odor, and blossom as a lily; send forth a fragrance, and sing a hymn; bless the Lord in all his works

Give greatness to his name, and confess in his praise, in songs of lips and in lyres, and thus you shall say in confession:

The works of the Lord are all very good, and every commandment in its time will be; it is not possible to say, What is this for? or, What is that for? For all things will be sought in their time.

By his word he stood as a heap of water, and by the utterance of his mouth as water-supply channels of waters

At his command is all good pleasure, and there is no one who will lessen his salvation.

The works of all flesh are before him, and it is not possible to be hidden from his eyes.

From age to age he looked, and there is nothing marvelous before him.

It is not possible to say, What is this? what is that? for all things have been created for their needs.

His blessing covered like a river, and like a flood it made the dry land drunk

So wrath will inherit nations, as he turned waters into brine

His ways are straight for the holy ones; so, for the lawless, stumbling blocks

Good things have been created from the beginning for the good; so also evils for sinners.

The beginning of every necessity for the life of man is water and fire and iron and salt and fine flour of wheat and milk and honey, the blood of the grape and oil and clothing

All these things are for good to the devout; so for sinners they will turn into evils.

There are spirits that were created for vengeance, and in his wrath he has strengthened their scourges. In time of completion they will pour out strength and will calm the wrath of the one who made them.

Fire and hail and famine and death, all these have been created for vengeance

The teeth of wild beasts and scorpions and vipers and a sword avenging unto destruction the ungodly

At his command they will be glad, and upon the earth for needs they will be prepared, and in their times they will not transgress a word.

Therefore from the beginning I was established and I considered, and in writing I left it behind

All the works of the Lord are good, and he will supply every need in its time.

And it is not possible to say, This is more wicked than that, for all things will be approved in their time.

And now with all heart and mouth sing praise and bless the name of the Lord
