Therefore let us fear, lest perhaps, while the promise remains, any one of you should seem to have fallen short of entering into his rest.

For we have also had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did, but the message of the hearing did not benefit them because it was not mixed with faith in those who heard.

For we who have believed enter into rest, as he has said, As I swore in my wrath, If they enter into my rest, although the works were finished from the foundation of the world,

For he has somewhere spoken about the seventh day in this way: And God rested on the seventh day from all his works,

And again, in this place, they will not enter my rest.

Since therefore some remain to enter it, and those who were previously evangelized did not enter because of disobedience,

Again he appoints a certain day, Today, saying in David after so long a time, as has been said before, Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.

For if Jesus had given them rest, he would not have spoken about another day after that.

Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.

For the one who has entered his rest has also rested from his works, just as God rested from his own.

Therefore, let us make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall into the same example of disobedience.

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating even to the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

And there is no created thing hidden before him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the confession.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tested in every way according to likeness, without sin.

Let us then approach with confidence the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help.
