The Koine Bible

For every high priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of men in things pertaining to God, to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins,

Being able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is also surrounded by weakness,

And because of it, he is obligated, just as concerning the people, so also concerning himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.

And no one takes the honor for himself, but is called by God, just as Aaron was.

So also Christ did not glorify himself to become high priest, but the one who said to him, You are my Son, today I have begotten you.

just as also in another place he says, You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek,

who, in the days of his flesh, offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to the one able to save him from death, and was heard because of his reverence,

Although he was a son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered,

And having been perfected, he became the cause of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

Having been designated by God a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

Concerning whom we have much to say, and it is difficult to explain, since you have become slow to hear.

For though you ought to be teachers by this time, you again need someone to teach you the elementary principles of the beginning of the words of God, and you have come to need milk, not solid food.

For everyone who partakes of milk is inexperienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a child.

But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.
