While thousands of the crowd had gathered so that they trampled one another, he began to say first to his disciples: Be on guard against the yeast, which is hypocrisy, of the Pharisees.

Sell what you own and give alms; make for yourselves purses that do not wear out, a treasure unfailing in the heavens, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

But the one who did not know, and did things worthy of punishment, will be beaten with few blows. To everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded from him, and to the one entrusted with much, even more will be asked.

They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

For as you go with your opponent before the ruler, give effort on the way to be released from him, so that he may not drag you before the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
