And looking up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury.

And he saw a certain poor widow putting in there two small coins,

And he said, Truly I tell you that this poor widow has put in more than all.

For all of these put in from their surplus, but she out of her poverty put in all the life she had.

And some were saying about the temple that it was adorned with beautiful stones and votive offerings, and he said,

These things which you see, days will come in which not one stone will be left upon another that will not be destroyed.

They asked him, Teacher, when then will these things be, and what is the sign when these things are about to happen?

He said, Watch out that you are not led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, I am, and The time has come; do not go after them.

When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened; for these things must happen first, but the end will not come immediately.

Then he said to them, A nation will rise against a nation, and a kingdom against a kingdom,

There will be great earthquakes and famines and plagues in various places, and there will be fearful signs from heaven.

Before all these things, they will lay hands on you and persecute you, delivering you into synagogues and prisons, being brought before kings and governors because of my name.

It will become a testimony for you.

Set therefore in your hearts not to premeditate how to defend yourselves,

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom that all your opponents will not be able to resist or contradict.

You will be handed over even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death,

And you will be hated by all because of my name.

And not a hair of your head will perish.

By your endurance, gain your souls.

But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near.

Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those in the middle of it must leave, and those in the countryside must not enter it,

For these are days of vengeance to fulfill all that is written.

Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing in those days, for there will be great distress on the earth and wrath against this people,

And they will fall by the sword and will be taken captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the nations until the times of the nations are fulfilled.

And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,

As people faint from fear and the expectation of what is coming upon the inhabited world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And then they will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory.

Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

And he told them a parable: See the fig tree and all the trees;

When they already sprout, seeing for yourselves, you know that the summer is already near.

So also you, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.

Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

But be careful for yourselves, so that your hearts are not weighed down with drunkenness and drunken revelry and the anxieties of life, and that day does not come upon you suddenly.

Like a trap, for it will come upon all who live on the face of the whole earth.

But stay awake at all times, praying that you may be able to escape all these things that are about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.

And he was teaching in the temple during the days, and at night he would go out and stay at the place called the Mount of Olives.

And all the people were getting up early to hear him in the temple.
