Now the festival of Unleavened Bread, called Passover, was approaching.

And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might kill him, for they feared the people.

Satan entered into Judas, who was called Iscariot, one of the twelve.

And having gone away, he conferred with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him over to them.

And they were glad and agreed to give him money.

And he agreed and sought an opportunity to hand him over to them without a crowd.

Now the day of Unleavened Bread came, on which the Passover had to be sacrificed.

And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare the Passover for us to eat.

They said to him, Where do you want us to prepare?

He said to them, When you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you; follow him into the house that he enters.

And you will say to the master of the house, The teacher says to you, Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?

And he will show you a large upper room already furnished; there prepare.

And having gone, they found as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

And when the hour came, he reclined, and the apostles with him.

And he said to them, I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

For I tell you that I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

And having taken a cup, giving thanks, he said, Take this and share it among yourselves.

For I tell you, I will not drink from now on of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.

And taking bread, after giving thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.

And the cup likewise, after they had eaten, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

But behold, the hand of the one who is betraying me is with me on the table.

For the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed.

And they began to debate among themselves about who then would be the one to do this.

A dispute also arose among them about which of them was considered to be greatest.

But he said to them, The kings of the nations exercise lordship over them, and those who have authority over them are called benefactors.

But not so with you; rather, the greater among you must become like the younger, and the one who leads like the one who serves.

For who is greater, the one reclining or the one serving? Is it not the one reclining? But I am among you as the one serving.

But you are those who have remained with me in my trials.

And I appoint for you, just as my Father appointed for me a kingdom,

so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has asked to sift you like wheat;

But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail; and when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.

But he said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death.

But he said, I tell you, Peter, today, before the rooster crows three times, you will deny me.

And he said to them, When I sent you out without moneybag, pouch, and sandals, did you lack anything? And they said, No one.

But he said to them, Now the one who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a pouch; and the one who does not have, let him sell his cloak and buy a sword.

For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in me: And he was counted among the lawless; for the end concerning me has an appointed time.

But they said, Lord, here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough.

And going out, he went according to his custom to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.

And when he came to the place, he said to them, Pray that you may not enter into temptation.

And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and kneeling down he prayed.

Saying, Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; nevertheless, not my will but yours be done.

And an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.

And being in agony, he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.

And rising from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping from sorrow,

And he said to them, Why do you sleep? Get up and pray so that you may not enter into temptation.

While he was still speaking, a crowd came, and Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them, and he approached Jesus to kiss him.

But Jesus said to him, Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?

But those around him, seeing what was about to happen, said, Lord, should we strike with the sword?

And one of those belonging to the high priest struck the servant and cut off his right ear.

But Jesus answered, Let it be enough for now; and touching the ear, he healed him.

But Jesus said to the chief priests and temple officers and elders who had come against him, As against a robber you came out with swords and clubs?

When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not stretch out your hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of darkness.

They seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest’s house; but Peter followed at a distance.

Now when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.

But a certain servant girl, seeing him sitting in the light and looking intently at him, said, This man was also with him.

But he denied it, saying, I do not know him, woman.

And after a little while another one saw him and said, You also are one of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.

And about an hour later another one was insisting, saying, Certainly this man was also with him, for he is a Galilean.

But Peter said, Man, I do not know what you are saying. And immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

And the Lord turned and looked at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him, Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.

And going outside, he wept bitterly.

And the men who were holding him mocked him, beating him.

And having covered him, they questioned him, saying, Prophesy, who is the one who struck you?

And many other blasphemies they were saying against him.

And when day came, the council of the people gathered, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away to their council,

saying, If you are the Christ, tell us. But he said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe.

But if I ask, you will not answer.

But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.

And they all said, Are you then the Son of God? He said to them, You say that I am.

They said, What further testimony do we need? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.
