And as he was going out from the temple, one of his disciples said to him, Teacher, see what kind of stones and what kind of buildings.

And Jesus said to him, Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left upon another that will not be thrown down.

And as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew were asking him privately.

Tell us when these things will be, and what will be the sign when all these things are about to be completed.

And Jesus began to say to them: Watch out that no one leads you astray.

Many will come in my name, saying I am, and they will deceive many.

And when you hear of wars and reports of wars, do not be alarmed; it is necessary for these things to happen, but the end is not yet.

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places, there will be famines. This is the beginning of birth pains.

But watch yourselves; they will hand you over to councils and into synagogues you will be beaten, and before governors and kings you will stand because of me as a testimony to them.

And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.

And whenever they lead you away, delivering you up, do not worry beforehand about what you will speak, but whatever is given to you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

And brother will deliver brother to death, and father will deliver child, and children will rise up against parents and will kill them.

And you will be hated by all because of my name. But the one who endures to the end, this one will be saved.

But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be, let the one who reads understand, then let those in Judea flee to the mountains,

Let the one on the roof not come down nor enter to take anything out of his house,

And let the one in the field not turn back to take his garment.

Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing in those days.

But pray that it may not happen in winter.

For those days will be a tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and will never occur again.

And if the Lord had not shortened the days, no flesh would be saved; but for the sake of the elect whom he chose, he shortened the days.

And then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ, or Look, there, do not believe it.

For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

But you, watch; I have told you everything in advance.

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light,

And the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

And then he will send out the angels and gather the elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.

Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch becomes tender and puts out leaves, you know that summer is near.

So also you, when you see these things happening, know that it is near, at the doors.

Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

But concerning that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Be watchful, be alert, for you do not know when the time is.

Like a man going on a journey who left his house and gave authority to his slaves, each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to be alert.

Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning,

lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping.

But what I say to you, I say to all: be watchful.
